Completely and painstakingly restored as a fine example of a great classic British motorcycle.  Features include sandblasted and powder coated frame, swing arm, rear frame section, rear hub, foot controls, motor plates, triple trees etc., rebuilt front forks, new Progressive rear shocks, new chrome rims fitted with new polished stainless steel spokes with Dunlop tires, new rings in honed cylinders, competition valve job, new bearings, seals, etc. New Amal carbs, re-chromed and powder coated air cleaners, transmission professionally converted to a 5 speed, new clutch, chain and sprockets, polished side covers, complete new chrome exhaust system, inspected and re-taped wiring harness, upgraded battery, new headlight bucket, trim ring and ammeter, new speedo and tach, hand controls, new hub, new brakes, new control cables, new seat cover on a new seat pan with repaired original foam, re-plated chrome fender brackets with polished stainless steel fasteners.  Tank and fenders expertly painted, color similar to original "Astral" red with silver tank scallops and fender stripes lined with hand applied gold pinstripes, new decals, polished original tail light and lens, original fasteners bead blasted and cad plated, some polished stainless steel and chrome fasteners used for appearance and accent. Odometer works intermittently and mileage may not be exact.

    Bike comes with a clear Missouri title in the name of the former owner.  He has signed the title...I have just not transferred the title to my name.  As you can see in the photos, the model number and the VIN number of the frame match. They are both T120V CG51210.  On the title, the model number and VIN number is T120RV CG51210.  1972 is the first year 5 speed transmissions were available.  Bonneville's with a 4 speed transmission were T120R bikes, and those bikes with a 5 speed had a "V" at the end of the model number.  This bike has the 5 speed transmission as indicated by the "V" in the model number/VIN number, and it works perfectly. The bike starts, idles, and runs good.  I've literally had 25 too 30 Triumphs over my life and they have all leaked oil.  If I ever had one that didn't, this is it.  So, I will just say this bike is the most oil tight one I have ever had.  Everything on the bike works....the headlight (both high & low beams), the 3 colored indicator lights in the headlight housing, the turn signals, the brake light (when activated by either the hand or foot), the tail light, the horn, the high beam flash button on the handlebar control, the kill switch button, the tach, and the speedometer.  The needles on both the tach and the speedo move as smoothly as if they were new...something kind of unusual for old Smith/s gauges.

Rain Forces Triumph Castrol Rocket Team To Look To Bonneville 2015

The past two weekends have produced more than three inches of rain and sad news for Bonneville land speed racing fans.Triumph has released it official statement regarding the announcement by Mike Cook’s Bonneville Shootout that the course will not be ready for its Triumph Castrol Rocket streamliner and others to make a 2014 FIM legal attempt at 400mph. This is not what you want to see the week before racing on the Bonneville Salt Flats. More than 2,000 attendees visited America’s Car Museum for its 3rd annual Vintage Motorcycle Festival ‘The MEET’ last weekend in Tacoma, Washington, where over 300 motorcycles and scooters were showcased on the Haub Family Field at LeMay. The event drew pre-1981 motorcycles and scooters from the U.S. and Canada, including an antique motorcycle display, swap meet, cruise-in and a 78-mile roundtrip tour from ACM’s Anderson Plaza to Mt. Rainier.

The U.S. Department of Transportation and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration have launched a new free online tool that should make it easier for consumers to inspect their vehicles’ safety recall histories. The new search tool, available at http://www.safercar.gov/vinlookup, allows people to look for recall campaigns by entering Vehicle Identification Numbers.

The stage is set for ”The Meet at ACM” motorcycle show this weekend in Tacoma, WA. While festivities will begin on Friday evening, America’s Car Museum (ACM) will host the third annual Vintage Motorcycle Festival on Saturday from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Organizers expect 450 vintage motorcycles and scooters from all over the nation to attend.

The 2014 edition of the LA Calendar Motorcycle Show continued its now 23-year tradition as the premier outdoor streetbike event in America with producer photographer Jim Gianatsis moving the show this year to the beautiful green lawns of the Malibu Golf Course among the twisty canyon roads in the Santa Monica Mountains alongside the Pacific Ocean. Highlighting this year’s exciting activities was the emergence of another new and soon to be renown custom bike builder to the sport for which the Calendar Show is known for cultivating. Taking Best of Show in this year’s Calendar Bike Building Championship was Calin Senciac’s Imagine Vehicles International / ImagineVehicles.com motorsports fabrication shop with an incredible custom billet aluminum designed chassis built by Terry Ward and the shop crew, housing a legendary 1979 Honda CBX 1047cc air-cooled in-line 6-cylinder engine.

The TT800 From Deus Ex Machina

Deus Ex Machina, the surf/moto shop known for creating throwback, one-of-a-kind motorcycles, has released its latest work of art, the TT800. Paying tribute to the highly successful Triumph factory TT machines from the mid-1960s, Deus’ expert builder, Michael Woolaway, created the TT800 for a customer requesting a new, old Triumph. It sources a Kawasaki W650 bored out to 800cc with CR carbs, a custom TT inspired exhaust, custom chromoly racing frame, re-valved Öhlins forks, and a custom gusseted swing arm for more stability. A Beringer six-piston caliper front brake provides stopping power.
