BMW Other description

2011 BMW R1200GS ADVENTURE, The GS Adventure series is the bike we continuously have the largest gap between supply and demand year in and year out, regardless of year or condition. But truth be told we always want them to be in the best condition and are excited when they are this nice with this few miles. So while you read this you may also want top pick up the phone and call us because they rarely last very long. This bike had just one owner since new and after the initial break-in service at his then dealer he did the next suggested but not required oil change. We took over when it arrived at Bob???s so that the next owner has a properly documented starting point with everything done as well as insuring he/she is still covered by the original 3 year or 36,000 mile warranty from BMW that remains in effect until April 1st (no fooling) of 2014. It is fully loaded with ESA II suspension, Integral ABS II, Enduro Transmission, onboard computer, BMW Fog lights, heated grips and the taller GSA windscreen and BMW hand guards. There is also the alloy skid plate, full BMW cylinder, tank and rider protection bar set plus the optional plate aluminum cylinder protectors, a Mudsling rear fender, a larger side stand plate and the BMW Adventure aluminum saddlebag set key matched to the bike all rolling on beautiful black anodized rims and chrome spokes. In the area of service we just did the following: Our standard MSI & PPI so that it???s certified for the state of Maryland as well as our exclusive ADVANTAGE CERTIFIED Program, we???ve installed new Metzeler Tourance tires and filled them with Nitrogen, installed a new BMW Battery as the original was showing signs of not holding a full charge, replaced a few bits of hardware that showed early signs if light rust and performed a full 6,000 mile plus bi-annual service which includes all fluids and the brake flush. Finally we added a pair of Powerlets to upgrade the standard BMW outlets so most anything can be plugged in safely and when all thaw a done we took it out for an extended test ride. The next owner really does get a fresh start at Bob???s!

WSBK: 2012 Magny-Cours Results – Championship Decided by Half a Point

Tue, 09 Oct 2012

You would think carrying a 30.5 point lead into the final round of the 2012 World Superbike Championship would be a safe enough margin to win the title. Aprilia‘s Max Biaggi made it interesting, inexplicably crashing out of the first race at the finale in Magny-C0urs before scoring a fifth place finish in Race Two to give him a 0.5 point margin over Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes to win the title. The 358 to 357.5 point difference is the narrowest finish ever in WSBK.

I would not, could not, ride a BMW C1

Tue, 29 Jun 2010

As the chair of this session I will start. On my walk to work this morning I got beeped at by BMW's C1 scooter whilst crossing the road. This, my most detested mockery of two-wheeled transport, beeped at me for no reason whatsoever but what angered me more was the pitiful horn the BMW has, it was a roadrunner like ‘meep’.

WSBK: 2012 Moscow Results

Mon, 27 Aug 2012

The historic race first-ever World Superbike Championship round in Russia provided plenty of drama with several top riders crashing out of both races and a new leader emerge in the chase for the 2012 WSBK Championship. Superpole qualifying made for four different manufacturers lining up in the first row of the grid, with Carlos Checa taking pole position for Althea Ducati ahead of Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes, Aprilia‘s Eugene Laverty and BMW rider Leon Haslam. A slightly damp and unfamiliar track likely contributed to a number of crashes and collisions.
