Triumph Bonneville description

Up for sale is my fully restored, numbers matching 1970 Bonneville. The top end was just redone, due to a circlip failure, with a break-in of just eighty- five easy neighborhood miles on it. I bought and built this as a weekend rider but, now, have decided to downsize.

ENGINE: Rebuilt with Carrillo Rods, new rod bearings, left crank roller bearing, bored cylinder head, .020 forged piston kit, stainless intake valves and crank sludge tube. Already had new springs, collars, clutch & primary chain, MORGO plunger oil pump & MAP oil filter, located under the seat. Installed 7 plate clutch.

GEARBOX: New bearings & cam plate with a late model 5 speed. With the 7 plate clutch, it's the smoothest transmission that you'll ever find and almost eliminates the sticking clutch plate problem.

FRAME: All black parts are powder coated.

ELECTRICS: New 200 watt stator, Tympanium, Boyer ignition with dual outlet high voltage coil. New fabric covered wiring harness.

FUEL: New BAP petcocks and AMAL PRENIUM 30mm carbs.

WHEELS: New stainless rims and BUCHANAN stainless spokes and nipples. Double-sealed wheel bearings. Correct DUNLOP K70 tires.

SUSPENSION: Rear; new swing arm bushings and Progressive Suspension shocks. Front; New chrome tubes, bushings, seals, gaters, springs and seal retainers.

NEW: Paint was mixed by Don Hutchinson and applied by Brent Budgor to exact factory specs. Only chip on bike is on the rear fender, see picture. Seat, cables, rear chain, sprockets, maintenance-free battery, new OEM amber reflectors with housings, reproduction Horns with handlebar switch and rebuilt Smith gauges.

**If possible,I encourage you to inspect and hear the bike run at my home, BEFORE, the end of the auction. I'm not a mechanic but will do my best to quickly answer all questions. USA SALES ONLY. Any shipping must be coordinated by the buyer. A $500 non-refundable deposit must be made within 24 hours and full payment within 7 days of the auction close. NO excuses. The bike WILL NOT be released until full payment has cleared your bank. Again, USA SALES ONLY.

**I will include the original Owner's Handbook, Haynes manual, service manual, two restoration books, extra oil filters and spark plugs and two different set of tank knee pads. I didn't want to use the knee pads because I didn't have the heart to cover up the beautiful paint job.

**Please know that my reserve is considerably below the prices of the last 70 Bonnevilles, of this quality, recently sold on Ebay. Thank you and good luck.

The Fonz Never Really Rode a Motorcycle!

Tue, 02 Jun 2009

According to the “King of Cool” himself, “The Fonz” (Henry Winkler) never actually rode any motorcycles during the ten year Happy Days television run.  Winkler, never rode a bike in real life either, he has dyslexia, which made it difficult for him to co-ordinate the clutch, throttle and brake.  Instead, the bikes (Harley Davidson’s, Triumph’s, BSA’s were used) were mounted on a piece of wood with wheels to make it look like he was riding, even though I am not shocked, I am a little disappointed… You can watch the interview with Winkler, the famous motorcycle jump “The Fonz” made over 14 trashcans and a bonus “Jump the Shark” video after the jump. 2014 Triumph America Horizon Revealed in CARB Documentation

Mon, 18 Mar 2013

New documents released by the California Air Resources Board reveal the existence of a new model from Triumph to be called the America Horizon for the 2014 model year. As its name implies, the 2014 Triumph America Horizon will likely be based on the existing Triumph America (the 2012 America is pictured above with touring accessories as an illustration.) The CARB documents confirm it will use the same 865cc parallel-Twin engine as the America as well as the Bonneville, Scrambler, Thruxton and the Speedmaster. We predict a claimed output of 60hp at 6800rpm and 53 ft-lb.

David Beckham Rides Custom Triumph Bonneville into Amazon Rainforest

Tue, 10 Jun 2014

After 22 years on the soccer field, David Beckham took on a new challenge in the form of the Amazon rainforest. To accomplish this task, he needed three things: some friends, a documentary film crew, and a custom-built Triumph Bonneville. There are nobbies under all that mud.
