Suzuki T500 Titan description

I tried to sell this a couple months ago but reserve was not met, so lets try again...

Engine is from a 1974 model T500 transferred to a titled 1970 frame.  CLEAN Illinois T-DOCUMENT IN MY NAME

Pretty clean bike.  Starts, runs and shifts through all five gears.  Usually starts on first or second kick.
If it sits for a long time you have to turn the petcock to PRIME.  This has a vacuum petcock.

I picked this up as a project, cleaned it up, painted it, tuned up, got it running. This is my daily rider.
There are some pics from a trip to Deals Gap aka Tail of the Dragon where this bike proved to be a solid runner and performed well.

I painted the bike custom, similar to the 1974 scheme.  A couple small scuffs since the paint job but not bad.
The paint is PPG.  Admittedly my paint work is subpar, but from a few feet away it looks good.  This was a practice project for me.
I did put a couple stickers on the tank and tail lamp  mount from Tail of the Dragon trip. Recently removed sticker from tank but tail lamp sticker is still there.

Most of the chrome is good and straight.
Most of the alloy will polish up if you put the time and elbow grease in.  Doesn't really need it from my aesthetic.

The gas cap needs to be replaced it will not close completely.  I had a tank bag on it, so it stayed closed for my purposes.
CORRECTION: GAS CAP HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH GOOD USED ITEM AND IS WORKING PROPERLY AT THIS TIME.

Also, some pics show the tank badges unpainted.  Typically the original badges inlay flakes out so in fact, I did end up painting them to relatively match the side cover badges, metal flake candy orange which I believe is similar to factory OEM.  There is a pic of the in process paint work for the tank badges.  TANK BADGES HAVE BEEN PAINTED.

I installed filter pods but the original air box is included.
CORRECTION: NEW AIR BOX IS NOW INSTALLED WITH OEM BRAND NEW SUZUKI AIRBOX RUBBER carburetor MANIFOLD.

Seat is reupholstered.

I rode it last week started fine, and wicked it up to about 85 mph on the frontage roads nearby just to see if it was still running good and it is as far as I can tell.

I will try to answer any questions.  Bike sold as is, where is.  I will not ship outside of USA.  BUYER is responsible for pickup.  I will assist with loading but I will not deliver. No trades etc.

Wed, 27 Mar 2013

When American Suzuki announced it was filing for Chapter 11 and dropping out of the U.S. automobile market last November, its counterparts in Canada said it would continue to sell cars for that market. It now appears that will only last for one more year, as Suzuki Canada announced it would also stop selling cars following the 2014 model year to focus on its powersports operations.

AMA Supercross: 2012 Arlington Results

Defending champion Ryan Villopoto won his third consecutive AMA Supercross race in Arlington, Texas, but the victory was overshadowed by a season-ending injury suffered by one of his main challengers Chad Reed. TwoTwo Motorsport Honda‘s Reed trailed Villopoto in second place for the first six laps at Cowboys Stadium. Disaster struck on Lap 7 however as Reed crashed hard in the whoops.
