1981 Honda CB (1981)
This is an extremely clean CB 650 with only 4700 miles. It had been pickled and stored for many years until 2010 when I purchased it. I rode it for a year or so and then ran fogger through the carbs, drained the tank and stuck it in the back of the garage under a cover. Wife wants it gone so I recently brought it back out of storage. It runs perfectly, has new battery and alternator. Tires are like new, exhaust is in very good condition, paint is also very good with the exception of a small dent in the right side of the tank... which I have an appointment this week with a dentless repair specialist to have removed. When it's done I'll edit this ad to reflect that. 1981 Honda CB900 Custom NO RESERVE (See video) (1981)
This bike ran pretty well 2 years ago before it was put away for the winter. A couple weeks ago I pulled it out of the mothballs, started it up and found it was running on 3 cylinders. I took the carbs off, cleaned them, and ran a bottle of B-12 carb cleaner through the gas. It is now running on all 4 cylinders, but backfires on deceleration. It has brand new tires with less than 10 miles on them, has new headlight ears, new headlight, new battery and both cam timing chains have recently been changed along with new rings and valve adjustment. It comes with 2 Vetter hard bags that are in decent shape, along with mounting hardware. This is the only bike I have ever seen with this few of miles and in this good of condition. I'm sure if your looking to buy this bike you know what you are looking at and what a find this is. The 9-9.5 out of 10 comes from very minor surface (only surface) rust on rear springs and various other small places that could easily be cleaned up, but I leave that to you or your detail shop. Selling this bike for a friend who collects and/or restores bikes like these. This is a beautiful bike that could nearly be called a 'survivor'. It has 2579 original miles on it. The motor starts and runs perfectly, it is super smooth! It has new tires, Gold O-ring chain, NOS low bars, replica seat cover (original seat cover was not torn, but indented by something being stored on it too long) and a Lithium battery. This bike has not been restored. It has had some re-chroming work done. The complete exhaust (except muffler), the front fender and braces and license plate and tail light bracket were re-chromed. The carb and the front brake caliper have been rebuilt. As mentioned under vehicle condition, there are some minor flaws. Take note of the fabricated bracket under the headlight and the spot on the front of the gauges. I was hard to show the flaws in the tank because they are quite minimal.
