1952 Harley Davidson CAPTAIN AMERICA.
OK not quite the iconic movie machine but it sure gets a lot of thumbs up going down the road. This bike looks great leading a Memorial Day, 4th of July or Veterans day parade. Stock panhead and 4 speed transmission, M74 linkert carb, mouse trap clutch and drum brake. 8750 miles since engine rebuild. To my knowledge---Original Harley wish bone frame, and Springer front end. (As old bike stories go, this bike was chopped in the late 60's or early 70's in California.The front fork is original with early Ford torsion bars welded on. Custom made exhaust and pan covers) A few upgrades, 12 volt electrical system, POWER ARC Electronic Ignition, and PRIMO primary belt drive There are a couple of chips in the paint on the fuel tank as you can see in the photos. Also a couple chips in the chrome on the custom built springer front end, (see photo). Overall a very clean bike for it's age Have an old school king/queen seat and other styles of handlebars and shotgun exhaust to go with the bike. Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame Announces 2013 Induction Class
Wed, 27 Feb 2013The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame announced it will induct five new members for 2013. The Hall also announced it will add one new member to its Freedom Fighters Hall of Fame. For 2013, the Hall will welcome to its ranks motorcycle attorney Russ Brown, custom chopper builder Rick Fairless (pictured above), Harley-Davidson dealer Bill Gikling, actor Marjoe Gortner of the television special “Sturgis: The Great Ride”, and antique motorcycle expert Lonnie Isam, Sr.

In a time before the economic meltdown, motorcycle sales, especially for Harley-Davidson, were booming. After the collapse, sales have only started to pick up again within the past two years (at nowhere near pre-2008 levels, however).
