T2005 MERT LAWWILL CONCEPTS STREET TRACKER
#14 OF 19

29 time Grand National Champion Flat Tracker Mert Lawwill designed these limited edition Street Tracker bikes after his Harley Davidson XR750 Flat Track Racer.

The Lawwill Street Trackers started out as a Harley 1200 R Sportster. The cylinders, heads and intake/exhaust manifolds and pipes were removed. New cylinders were forged changing the exhaust to the left side and adding two carburetors on the right. Special racing cams and ignition system replaced the stock ones.

The frame was removed and the only things that were kept were the rubber engine mounts. The frame is a hand crafted chrome molly racing strength, about a hundred + pounds lighter and redesigned for better handling.

This bike incorporates a twin swing arm and fully adjustable Pensky racing mono-shock.
With this design, it accelerates like a drag racer. When you pull back on the throttle, the rear end rises and plants the front wheel, for quicker response off the line and better handling around curves both left and right.

The oil tank could no longer be mounted under the sat, so a hand made tank was designed and doubles as the right side number plate.

The bike was dyno tested at Factory Pro in San Rafael, CA. It is rated at 96 horsepower.

The last of these machines was built in 2010. This is #14 of only 19 built and that will ever be built.

Louisiana state lawmakers have approved a bill that would change the maximum height of motorcycle handlebars. Current state law restricts handlebar height to no more than 15 inches above the seat, a somewhat arbitrary level, but a common choice with 17 other states. The House has voted 87-0 in favor of Senate Bill 582 to change the maximum height to the rider’s shoulder level, as measured while sitting on the seat.
