1972 Yamaha XS650 Original paint, chrome, handlebars, seat, gauges, fenders, everything except the slip on mufflers are an aftermarket muffler and they function well. It starts and runs good, shifts, brakes and the lights work too. The carbs were recently cleaned and the bike was tuned up, valves set, timing etc.... The mufflers are aftermarket and function nicely. The tires are good and the gauges work. Rims and spokes are original and very solid with just a few small rust spots. The fuel tank has some exterior oxidation as is evident on the lower right side, however, the tank is very solid and the rust is only surface rust. Chain and sprockets are good and function well. There are 3 small rips in the seat cover. It does have new air filters as well. This is not a perfect restored bike as you can see. But, it is an original time capsule. Bid to win!!! Canadian Speeder’s Yamaha R1 Seen in Now-Famous YouTube Video Sold in Auction
Wed, 22 Aug 2012The Vancouver Sun is reporting on its website today that the Yamaha R1 made famous in a YouTube video featuring the rider speeding along the Trans-Canada Highway was sold recently for $4,651 in an online auction. According to the Sun the auction was conducted by B.C.’s Civil Forfeiture Office, which can seize property believed to have been used for unlawful activity. The winning bidder, 4x4albert, beat more than 70 bids to claim the 2006 R1.

In fact, the other three members of the Japanese Big Four have launched new models in the small-displacement segment in recent years, but none of these new generation small-displacement bikes bear Yamaha‘s crossed tuning fork logo. Morning commuters in Barcelona got a little surprise yesterday from Yamaha and Jorge Lorenzo as the reigning MotoGP Champion and his crew re-created their usual race start ritual on a public street in front of the iconic Sagrada Familia. The roar of Lorenzo’s Yamaha YZR-M1 drew people’s attention as mechanics, data engineers and a lone Brolly Girl emerged.
