1953 Indian Chief For Sale - Restored from New Old Stock Parts
This bike took 30 years of one mans passion to assemble. In 1964 Bob Stark purchased the frame and motorcases. Starting a bike restoration with so few pieces seemed daunting. However, what he decided to do is incredible. He spent 30 years researching, locating, and obtaining New Old Stock parts to complete the restoration of this 1953 Indian Chief. A bike can be restored many times, but it can only be considered new one time. This bike is the closest that can ever be obtained to factory new. We unwrapped parts from original factory wrapping, cleaned them up and installed them on this one of a kind motorcycle. This bike has been completely restored and assembled by Bob Stark, Owner of Starklite Cycle. It is ready to ride. (Although if you do ride the bike we would recommend changing the tires to a new tire instead of the original Dunlops that are currently on the bike). This bike is probably the only New Old Stock 1953 Indian Chief in the world! We have not started the bike. When the bike is sold we will give the winning bidder the option to have us start this New Old Stock Bike, or keep it as a showpiece. If you have any questions please call us at 951-968-3070 and we will answer any questions about this unique motorcycle Partial Listing of New (Original) Parts: Seat Seat Rail Headlight Fenderlight Dunlop Tires Handlebars etc. Color: Black Engine: Indian 80 Cubic Inch with compensator sprocket and clutch brake Transmission: Indian Three Speed Engine #CS61145 Frame #CS61145 Video: A link to Bob Stark talking about this remarkable restoration. One like this will probably never come around again in our lifetimes. Shipping: Starklite Cycle can arrange shipping of this bike world wide. We can crate the bike for an additional fee and handle all export paperwork, or all domestic shipping paperwork. Contact us if you have any questions. Payment: A $1,000 deposit is required upon the end of the Auction. The remaining balance is to be paid within 10 days of end of auction. Contact us for any questions. Payment is expected within 10 days of auction close, unless prior arrangements had been made. If payment is not received within 10 days a Non-Paying Bidder (NPB) warning will be filed with eBay. A negative feedback will be left if the buyer does not answer the NPB warning within 10 days. Don Emde To Retrace Cannonball’s Trail On 100th Anniversary
Fri, 02 May 2014Saturday, May 3, 2014, marks the 100th anniversary of Erwin “Cannonball” Baker‘s epic voyage from San Diego, CA to New York City. The goal was to beat the existing record of 20 days. Not only did he beat it, but he smashed it, going coast to coast in just over 11 days.
Indian FTR Carbon
Sun, 17 May 2020Indian FTR Carbon differs from the base model in the wide use of carbon fiber parts: the false tank and air filter housing, headlight housing, decorative passenger seat cover and front fender are made of carbon fiber. The motorcycle also has an Akrapović exhaust system made of titanium alloy. Otherwise, the Indian FTR Carbon is completely identical to the S-version of the FTR 1200.
Indian Motorcycle to Reveal 2015 Lineup at Sturgis
Wed, 25 Jun 2014Indian Motorcycle made a splash at last year’s Sturgis Rally, making its rebirth under Polaris Industries and revealing its Thunderstroke 111 V-Twin powered 2014 lineup. It should come as no surprise then that Indian announced it will reveal its all-new 2015 model lineup at this year’s Sturgis Rally. Although Indian makes the “all-new” claim, we expect a similar lineup to what’s currently available (Chief, Chief Vintage and Chieftain), perhaps with a revision or a new spin on an existing model.
