Yamaha YZF-R description

I am the original buyer of this bike.  It purchased brand new on October 4 of 2012.  The motorcycle is completely stock.  No upgrades or adjustments of any kind have been made.  This bike has been used on trips to and from Beaumont to Houston, about a 170 mile round trip.  The motorcycle comes with a 4 year extended warranty.  Always kept in the garage and has never been dropped or crashed.  There is a small dime sized dent on the fuel tank, and the left blinker light is cracked but still functional.

TRANSPORTATION IS BUYERS RESPONSIBILITY
Cash or cashiers check accepted in person unless otherwise agreed upon.  Payment required within 3 days of auction close.

Back in the day, the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba

Fri, 24 Jun 2011

This ‘you tube’ gem sent to me recently brought back some funny memories from the scary but incredibly exciting days of 500cc two stroke racing. This particular race was the final round of the All Japan 500cc Championship at Tsukuba Circuit where I enjoyed a head to head battle with national hero Tadahiko Taira. Yamaha’s favourite son at the time, ‘tie wrap’ as we liked to call him, was taller and better looking than most Japanese riders (maybe a war baby?) and went on to win nearly everything in Japan during his career.

Day 1 Dakar 2014: Barreda Draws First Blood

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

Team HRC’s Joan Barreda on the Honda CRF450 Rally, got off to a storming start in day one of the 2014 Dakar rally, clocking up the fastest time of all the 175 riders at the first time-check. The former Husqvarna rider who moved to Honda in the middle of the season inaugurated his 2014 Dakar with an acrobatic performance. The motorcycle competition was expected to be wide open, and that is indeed what the classification shows after the opening stage. It was a very early start for the Rally Dakar. The pack of riders headed off at four in the morning on a long 251 miles that took them towards the vibrant city of Rosario for the start of the 112 mile special.

What Would Colin Edwards Do?

Wed, 25 May 2011

As fast as Colin Edwards is on the track, the Texas Tornado may be even quicker behind a microphone. We saw some of that last year in the Yamaha-produced “Man-Cation” video with Edwards and his then-Tech 3 teammate Ben Spies, and Edwards can always be relied upon for a good quote at press conferences. The producers of MotoGP’s official video podcast “After the Flag” have taken notice of CEIII’s wit.
