Yamaha YZF-R description

This is a 1000cc Yamaha YZF-R1. It is in fantastic condition, but has a couple minor scratches. It is a 1 owner bike, owned by an adult. No stunts were performed on this bike. It has never been laid down. It fell off the stands once while changing the oil. The scratches are a result of that fall. There are a couple scratches to the left of the left headlamp and one small round scratch on the left side of the rear tail, next to the sticker. 2 of the frame savers are a little scuffed as well as a small metal guard next to the frame saver. Unless you're close, the scratches aren't obvious. I just want to make sure the defects are known. It has new Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tires, that have less than 500 miles on them. The oil is fresh and is always changed regularly. This bike was stored in a garage and has been well maintained. Front/rear stands and a cover are included.

Wayne Rainey to Appear at Misano for First Time Since Career-Ending Crash

Tue, 30 Aug 2011

Wayne Rainey will return to the Misano circuit for the first time since he suffered a career-ending crash that left him paralyzed from the chest down. The Sept. 5, 1993 crash at the circuit then-known as the Circuito Internazionale Santamonica brought a sudden end to what had been an incredibly successful Grand Prix racing career.

Suzuka Eight Hour capers

Mon, 05 Sep 2011

Chatting to TT legend John McGuiness recently about his first Suzuka Eight Hour experience got me thinking of a few capers the boys and me managed a few years back at what is still Japan's most important race of the season. It is a unique event that starts at 11am and finishes at 7pm making  it a pukka endurance race as the last hour is run with headlights on in the dark. It is essentially an eight hour sprint that showcases the trickest endurance machinery and manufacturer’s sales can be affected the following year depending on who wins or loses.

Yamaha revealed the first 2012 models from its Star Motorcycles brand of cruisers, the V Star 950 and V Star 950 Tourer. The 2012 V Star 950 (and the more touring-oriented V Star 950 Tourer) is powered by a fuel-injected air-cooled 942cc 60 degree V-Twin engine with a five-speed transmission. Yamaha estimates fuel economy at 47 mpg from the 4.5 gallon tank.
