Yamaha YZF-R description

For sale is a 1999 Yamaha R1 that has been converted into a street fighter. The bike was crashed in a parking lot which damaged the fairings and broke the right side clip-on. A friend of mine bought the bike and built it up as you see it now. He recently moved out of state and wasn't able to take it with him so I bought it. Circumstances have changed for me and I'm no longer able to keep the bike. He did a very nice job building it up and it isn't your typical hacked together street fighter. The bike runs great and is a perfect commuter or back roads toy. The bike comes with a clean California title in my name. I have barely ridden the bike, but he put thousands of miles on it and didn't have any problems with it.

If you'd like pics of any specific part or video of it running/riding message me.

- 34,142 miles (may go up a bit as it still gets ridden occasionally)
- No issues. The bike runs/rides great
- S20 Evo tires (the rear will need replacing soon)
- Protaper bars
- Lots of custom one off stuff (a custom 3D printed battery tray being one of those things)
- SpeedoHealer
- EXUP delete circuit
- Dynojet jet kit
- Factory Pro Velocity stacks
- Racetech suspension - 175lb rider
- EBC pads
- SS front/rear brake lines
- Barnett clutch conversion
- Frame is in good condition
- No leaks
- I do have a few extra parts I can throw in with it. These parts would be shipped separately.
- Left rear turn signal is held together with tape. I have a set of 4 new ones I haven't installed yet, but will include.
- It's got a rattle can paint job. It looks decent from 10', but you can tell up close.

Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. I recommend using haulbikes.com for shipping. I can drain the oil and gas from the bike if necessary.

The bike is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end this listing early if it sells.

The bike is located in Martinez, CA (SF Bay Area). If you are local feel free to come check out the bike and take it for a test ride. Test rides with cash in hand only. Bring your own helmet/gloves.

A $250 deposit via Paypal is required within 24 hours of purchase. The remaining balance (cash or cashier's check only) must be sent within 7 days of purchase. The bike is garaged and will not be ridden once it sells. I will send the buyer a picture showing the current mileage when it is purchased. The only additional mileage would be from getting the bike to the truck for shipping.

Donington Park and the Roman rebel.

Thu, 31 Mar 2011

We know the sun always shines on the righteous and that’s exactly what happened last weekend at Donington Park. Yes its good honest people back in charge of the Derbyshire circuit so we saw summer sunshine for Friday’s free practice and also for WSB race two on Sunday. The circuit is better than ever with a new Esses section in place, and while the paddock remains unchanged, work has already started that will see gradual revamp over the year ahead.

"That's one small step for man..."

Fri, 02 Oct 2009

TO CELEBRATE the 40th anniversary of man's first steps on the moon, Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo will wear an astronaut-style paint job on his helmet at this weekend's Portuguese GP. The Spaniard's lid has been sprayed to look a little like a spaceman's helmet and has Neil Armstrong's immortal words: "That's one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind" written on the rear. Let's just hope Lorenzo doesn't launch himself this weekend.
