Marco Melandri earned BMW its second ever World Superbike victory to move into second place in the championship standings behind Max Biaggi in the series’ only stop in the United States. Melandri won a red-flagged Race Two at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park after finishing second to defending WSBK Champion Carlos Checa in Race One to give him 142.5 points on the season, tied with Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes but behind Aprilia‘s Biaggi who leads the way with 160.5 points. Victory Motorcycles has released a series of videos showing a behind-the-scenes look behind its 2013 product brochure. This year’s brochure was notable for Victory‘s tie-in with Playboy magazine, including a photoshoot at the famous Playboy mansion. The brochure featured three Playboy models, Miss November 2011 Ciara Price, Miss January 2011 Anna Sophia Berglund and Miss April 2012 Raquel Pomplun.

2011 World Supersport Champion Chaz Davies

Chaz Davies has captured the 2011 Supersport World Championship, completing a triumphant return to the series for Yamaha. Davies, the 2008 Daytona 200 winner, finished the Magny-Cours round in sixth place, giving him an insurmountable 35-point lead over Hannspree Ten Kate Honda‘s Fabien Foret with one race remaining. The championship comes in Yamaha‘s return from a one-year absence from the series.
