Triumph Bonneville description
1973 Triumph Bonneville five gear, vary fast dual carburetors. Brand new front brake master cylinder, brand new old stock mufflers. Just had the top end professionally done (push rods, timing, cylinders, spark plugs, new coils, and plug wires). This bike sat for a long time before I resurrected it earlier this year, all matching number bike, clear title, registered. Starts on 1 kick, has Boyer aftermarket ignition, brand new battery. This bike has rare 20" front rim with knobby tire(off road tire) bike comes with an extra front street tire...I put as much money as i could afford into it, now i have to get something out of it for the holidays.There is a small dent on the front of the tank by the handle bars, natural wear and tear on paint and chrome from age of bike, (30 yrs), bat wings (turn signal switches) are chipped. Right side carburetor needs a rebuild or replacement, bike cuts out from float sticking open and flooding the engine, could be an easy fix, but I've put enough money into it. It has a small oil leak which is vary common for British motorcycles as well. Fri, 04 Oct 2013On January 9, 2014, during the fourth annual Las Vegas Sale of motorcycles at Bally’s Hotel and Casino, Bonhams, the world’s largest auction house for cars, motorcycles and memorabilia, will be auctioning off over 50 motorcycles from the extensive Wayne Pierce family museum collection, all offered at no reserve. Among the machines is a first-year Harley-Davidson Sportster believed to be the 10th XL883 produced in 1957, a 1933 Harley VLE police bike that saw actual duty on the streets of Chicago before being cast in the 1987 Kevin Costner gangster movie, “The Untouchables,” and an authentic and unrestored 1947 Harley Knucklehead wearing period aftermarket accessories. Wayne “Pappy” Pierce started his Harley-Davidson dealership in 1957, run out of a one-room tin shed in DeKalb, Illinois.
