1973 Triumph T140V 750cc Bonneville engine in a 1972 Triumph chassis

Engine number T140V-AH24743

Frame number T120V-EG55545

Total engine overhaul.
Every segment of the motorcycle has been completely disassembled---engine, gearbox, primary and clutch, swingarm, forks.

The engine rebuild was a meticulous overhaul.

Our shop inspected and replaced every intricate part that showed wear.

The crankshaft main bearings and seals were replaced.

New connecting rod big-end bearings were installed on polished journals.

The cams were polished and lifters refaced.

The oil pump was overhauled.

The pistons and rings were replaced.

The valve guides were replaced with Precision Engineering bronze guides.

The valves are Black Diamond, which is the best quality in the industry.

Valve springs are heavy duty Kibblewhites.

A copper head gasket was installed to eliminate leaking.

The exhaust headers are new T120TT pipes.

The gearbox was overhauled with all-new bushings and bearings.

The gears were in good shape, with no chipped or damaged teeth.

The clutch has been improved by installing Barnett heavy-duty clutch springs and clutch plates.

The primary chain was replaced.

The carburetors have been updated with chrome slides and improved carburetor ticklers have been installed, so you won't get gasoline on your finger when you tickle the carburetor during your starting procedure. The carburetion is finished off with new air cleaner elements.

The stock points and condensers ignition system has been replaced with modern Electronic Ignition.

Now, the timing is set forever, and the system is maintenance-free.

The charging system has been updated with a solid-state regulator/rectifier.

Total chassis overhaul.
The steering head bearings have been updated to tapered bearings.

The frame has been painted.

The fork tubes were replaced, fork internals overhauled.

All wheel bearings have been replaced. The rims and spokes are original Dunlop units, and honestly look like new.

The rear tire is NOS Dunlop K91 4.25X18. It is brand new, but it is very old.

The front Dunlop K81 is a new 4.10X19.

Both wheels have been speed-balanced.

The entire engine has been bead-blasted and painted.

The original Smiths instruments are in good working condition.

The seat and tailpiece is new.

The gas tank and fenders have been painted. The lettering is painted, not decals.

The overhauled engine has been properly broken in.

The head has been re-torqued, the valves re-adjusted, and the oil changed.

The levers are genuine Dougherty, as were found on the late 60's BSA Spitfire.

We can convert the front-end to a disc brake using genuine Triumph parts. Please inquire.

Feel free to ask for more photos.

Check my feedback, bid with confidence, and feel free to call with questions. 320-243-3797  Chuck  at Zap Cycle D0T NET

The Fonz Never Really Rode a Motorcycle!

Tue, 02 Jun 2009

According to the “King of Cool” himself, “The Fonz” (Henry Winkler) never actually rode any motorcycles during the ten year Happy Days television run.  Winkler, never rode a bike in real life either, he has dyslexia, which made it difficult for him to co-ordinate the clutch, throttle and brake.  Instead, the bikes (Harley Davidson’s, Triumph’s, BSA’s were used) were mounted on a piece of wood with wheels to make it look like he was riding, even though I am not shocked, I am a little disappointed… You can watch the interview with Winkler, the famous motorcycle jump “The Fonz” made over 14 trashcans and a bonus “Jump the Shark” video after the jump. 2013 Triumph Special Edition Bonneville and Speed Triple Announced

Fri, 01 Mar 2013

Triumph has revealed Special Edition versions of the Bonneville and Speed Triple for 2013, proving once again that nothing delivers a bang for the buck like cosmetic enhancements to popular models. Most appealing to our eyes is the subtle but sexy Triumph Speed Triple SE (pictured above.) Its Matte Graphite color is beautifully set off by soft blue accents of the frame, swingarm, subframe and wheel pinstriping. Included on the SE are a color-matched fly screen, belly pan and seat cowl.
