A nice survivor Suzuki GT550 with that great unmistakable sound of the two stroke. This was the last production year of the iconic model. Starts and runs well. Chrome is in great shape including all 4 exhaust pipes. Paint has normal wear and tear of a 40 year old bike, with a small shallow dent on right side. Transmission is sometimes finicky to shift, but not bothersome enough to investigate further. The CCI oil injection system could be readjusted by someone more knowledgeable than I to optimize proper flow and minimize the characteristic 2 stroke smoke. The digital gear position (1977 LED's) don't always display properly. Haven't seen a nicer example in a long time - while not perfect it sure is a great classic in nice driver shape. Last licensed for the road in 2013. Just no time to ride and it's a shame to see this one sit and not enjoyed. Bike is sold as is with no warranty express or implied. Mon, 08 Nov 2010I've sat through enough manufacturer' presentations recently to know that we're in trouble. Ignoring the still booming Asian markets, the rest of the motorcycle World is in free-fall. Even looking at the figures optimistically we're still only selling half the volumes we were in pre-crash 2006.

Wed, 27 Apr 2011The MotoGP circus moves into it's tenth appearance at the Estoril circuit, with the Portugease circuit playing host to a Grand Prix event in each of the previous nine years since the introduction of the four-stroke MotoGP formula at in 2002. Below is a reminder of the highlights of the previous nine MotoGP races held at Estoril: 2002 – Having won the last 500cc GP race at Estoril in 2001, Valentino Rossi (Honda) won the first of the MotoGP races held at the circuit. This was a race that was run in very wet conditions and Sete Gibernau had led for most of the race only to crash out with four laps to go.
