Kawasaki z1r description

This bike just came out of storage, sitting since 1987!
Bought from original owner, been in dry storage close to 30 years

He put it away right, I put a new battery in it and it started right up. The bike runs suprisingly well, no smoke and revs pretty clear. The carbs will need service as the #3 one has a small drip on the overflow.

The rest of the bike is very original, stock paint etc. The muffler is a replacement one in new condition, new grips and Accel coils. The rest of the bike looks to be stock Kawasaki.
The paint has some minor nicks, and the top of the tail is faded. Bike shows normal wear for its age. Has some minor rust and corrosion spots, but really looks nice overall. Stock seat has no rips and kickstart lever is mounted underneath it still. Has tool kit under seat and carb boots look perfect. Tank has minor surface rust inside, should clean up easy.

I rode the bike up and down the road, clutch and gears are fine. Front brakes dragged a little after using, and the #3 carb has a small drip. This bike will need to be serviced to be ready for full time road use again(carbs, tires and brake service). It does start the second you hit the button and will ride as is, but the right thing to do is go through it as it has been sitting 30 years!
This bike is sold as is, please plan to see it early if you need exact details on every part.

Has 15,427 miles on it, and comes with a current NH title/registration from 2016. This paperwork will get you a title in any state that requires one.

I will be happy to meet with your shipper and help load the bike, bike can be seen in Winchendon MA before auction ends if needed.

Kawasaki Producing 599cc 2013 Ninja ZX-6R for Japanese Racing Homologation

Wed, 31 Oct 2012

When Kawasaki announced it was upping the engine displacement for the Ninja ZX-6R to 636cc, the immediate question on many Team Green fans’ minds was what it would mean for the company’s supersport racing efforts. Kenan Sofuloglu won the 2012 World Supersport Championship on a Kawasaki ZX-6R, but under the regulations, he may not be allowed to defend his title next season on the 2013 model as homologation requirements in Supersport racing series limit Inline-Fours to displacements smaller than 600cc. Fear not however, as Kawasaki will be producing a special version of the ZX-6R with an engine displacement of 599cc, the same as the 2012 version.

2014 AMA Supercross – Anaheim 1 Results

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

KTM rookie Ken Roczen captured his first 450 class win in the AMA Supercross world championship, taking the season opener at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif. An audience of 45,050 fans watched a clean race from the rookie while errors by veterans like James Stewart and three-time reigning champion Ryan Villopoto knocked them out of contention. Villopoto had a strong start, taking the holeshot and leading the first eight laps, just like the Kawasaki rider had done so often the last few seasons.

Cathy Butler Attempting Land Speed Record Aboard Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R

Fri, 08 Aug 2014

Kawasaki has had a great 30th anniversary so far for its Ninja line of models. To date, the highlights have included Jeremy Toye’s triumph at Pikes Peak, Tom Sykes leading the World Superbike Championship and the release of the 2015 Ninja ZX-14R 30th Anniversary Limited Edition. The celebrations haven’t finished yet, and the next milestone will be an assault on Bonneville Speed Week (August 9-15, 2014) in an attempt to set a new Land Speed Record at the famous Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. The 2015 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R has been entered by catalytic converter specialist, ACAT Global, with the aim of proving its motorcycle products in the most challenging conditions.
