Kawasaki Other description

2008 Kawasaki Versys (Versatile System) 650cc "Adventure-Style" motorcycle.

2008 Motorcycle of the Year Award by Motorcyclist Magazine.
2008 Best in Class "Allrounder class" award by Motor Cycle News.

This great middle-weight bike is highly reviewed for its ultra-reliable 650cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine, delivering a great mix of power and torque over a broad RPM range.  It's upright seating position, wide handlebars and triple disc brakes makes for a safe, controllable and comfortable ride.  The 41mm inverted front forks, adjustable monoshock and beautiful aluminum swingarm provide perfect suspension for riding city streets, twisty backroads, or great distances on our nation's Interstate highways.

This low mileage bike was purchased new by a capable and knowledgeable motorcyclist.  He owned a garage filled with fine bikes.  All of them were meticulously maintained.  Sadly, I am listing the bike for his widow.

This bike is very clean, starts, idles, runs, shifts and brakes perfectly.  The battery is full-powered and all lights and electrics work fine.  There is a "Battery Tender" wiring harness installed.
The Pirelli tires are presumably original (IDK) and should be fine for a few thousand more miles.

Included is the pictured luggage rack and removable, locking GIVI storage compartment.  The owner's manual and tool kit is under the seat.

Full-payment by Bank Certified Check or Postal Money Order expected within 10 days of auction completion.
I will hold the bike with a PayPal deposit of $500, the balance to be paid in advance of or upon pick-up.
I WILL NOT hold the bike in lieu of a full-cash payment upon pick-up.
I can store the bike securely until your arrangements can be made.
Will sell to Canadian or overseas bidders provided all shipping arrangements are made by buyer and don't cause me too much hassle.
Free enclosed trailer delivery available to the Barber Motorsports AHRMA Vintage Festival in Birmingham AL (October 11-13).

2014 AMA Supercross – Anaheim 1 Results

Mon, 06 Jan 2014

KTM rookie Ken Roczen captured his first 450 class win in the AMA Supercross world championship, taking the season opener at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, Calif. An audience of 45,050 fans watched a clean race from the rookie while errors by veterans like James Stewart and three-time reigning champion Ryan Villopoto knocked them out of contention. Villopoto had a strong start, taking the holeshot and leading the first eight laps, just like the Kawasaki rider had done so often the last few seasons.

Randy de Puniet's custom W650

Fri, 16 Dec 2011

MotoGP star Randy de Puniet commissioned Deus customs to build him a motorcycle for the streets of Sydney. Randy's brief was for a middleweight, 2-up twin that would be light enough to slice through the city streets and have the power for blasts on the open road, and have orange, black and white for the paint. Deus chose the Kawasaki W650, lowered it at both ends, fitted an SR500 tank, lobbed the old air box and added K&N filters, stuck on a custom 2-into-2 exhaust system and added low-profile fenders to finish off the clean and simple look.
