For sale is a completely reconditioned 1983 Kawasaki KZ1100 LTD. I am the 2nd owner of this low mileage (18k), well maintained muscle bike. This is the last year of the vaunted Z1 platform. Everything has been gone through and all electrics work as they should. The bike has a four into 1 header and Ramair filters which were designed specifically for the 34mm Mikuni CV carbs, which have been restored and jetted appropriately. Chrome is flawless. Paint is original, with some sun fade on the top of the tank but looks great. Original owner misplaced the side covers but I was able to source out a set on ebay (rare and expensive)and sprayed them black. New battery and rubber. Petcock restored. Good brakes. Replaced the high US bars for Superbike bars (have the original)and the flashers for some slick mini turn signals.This sweet machine is smooth and very powerful and is a great, last example of a Kaw DUAL OVERHEAD CAM air-cooled liter bike. The header gives this bike a great subtle roar.Photos don't do it justice.Price is more then reasonable considering the bike and its condition. Clear TX title. However, two unfortunate and costly blows hit the paddock; the banning of tobacco advertising in 2005 followed by the global economic crisis. The off-shoot saw grid numbers drastically dwindle with staple teams, like Kenny Roberts' outfit, and manufacturers, Kawasaki and Suzuki, succumbing to the events and disappearing.
FIM Updates Superbike Racing Homologation Lists for 2013
Tue, 19 Feb 2013The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) has released an updated list of motorcycles homologated for the 2013 Superbike, Supersport, and Superstock racing season. Notable additions include the new BMW S1000RR HP4, the MV Agusta F3 and the Superbike-spec Ducati 1199 Panigale R. To qualify a production-based racebike for FIM homologations, manufacturers have to meet certain production thresholds.
Record Number of Entrants (Sort of) for 2012 Isle of Man TT Zero
Mon, 23 Apr 2012Mark Miller, seen here aboard the MotoCzysz electric race bike, won the 2010 TT Zero. Team Segway Racing MotoCzysz will again return to the TT Zero with past TT Zero winners Mark Miller and Michael Rutter as its riders in the 2012 race. The Isle of Man TT press office today announced a total of 18 entrants in the 2012 SES TT Zero electric motorcycle race — a record number of riders according to the IoM TT website.
