Kawasaki Other description

Just want to get this part out of the way ... I will not ship the bike (internationally or in US). I don't know how and don't want the responsibility of doing so. I am happy to meet up with you if you're local or deliver within 25 miles personally (once the funds clear), but please don't ask me to deliver. I'll drive it to a delivery place if its semi-local, but that's about it.

1975 Kawasaki Z1 900 for sale.

I have owned this bike for over 20 years and put it together myself (for the most part), but I never ride it anymore and it is just sitting. I want you to be comfortable with your purchase so I will do my best to explain everything in detail as best I can, the good and the bad, but please ask questions.

The good:

Starts right up and rides great. Pretty fast by 1975 standards.

Engine:

Entire top end has less than 5000 miles on it.

  • Weisco 1075 piston and ring kit
  • Cylinder was from a KZ1000 I believe
  • Webb "Hot Street" cams
  • 28mm Mikuni smoothbore carbs
  • Dyna electronic ignition (points conversion)
  • Dyna coils
  • HBE (Hot Bike Engineering - formerly Denco) exhaust.
  • Exhaust is ceramic coated silver color.
  • Oil cooler.

Frame/Chassis:

  • Corbin seat - not even broken into my butt
  • Frame is powder coated black
  • Lester wheels
  • Tires (forget brand) are in great shape still
  • Dual disk setup came off a 76 LTD.
  • Disks are pattern drilled
  • brake lines are new steel brained line with a smoke color coating
  • Master cylinder is new aftermarket
  • Handlebars are lower drag style
  • New grips, mirrors, headlight cover and polished aluminum handlebar cover
  • Gauges have custom faceplate I made (see more in the not so good part below)
  • Forks have progressive springs and the fork seals and oil have less than 5k miles
  • Polished rear swing arm is off a Suzuki GS1100 and so are shocks.
  • Fenderless rear bracket for light and license plate (I made it)
  • Inside of gas tank is ceramic coated
  • Pingle fuel petcock
  • new battery (forget brand .. from Pep Boys last year)

The not so perfect ... :

  • Tach and speedo gauges are jumpy. I think I forgot a washer or something when I put on the faceplate stickers. the gauges bounce around.
  • Tach and speedo gauge lights aren't bright. I tried to put in blue LEDs bulbs but dint think it through properly and the light is blocked by the stickers I put on. you can see it, but not as bright as it should be.
  • Sprockets are geared for more low end. I forget the tooth sizes of them but I remember thinking I wanted it fast off the line. in retrospect, I should have geared it a little better for highway cruising. It isn't horrible, just revving higher than I would like for doing 70 on the highway.
  • Oil leak from stator housing. I tried fixing this and must be doing something wrong. It's a brand new rubber grommet for stator wires and new gasket and it still leaks. I am sure I just did something wrong.

That's all I can think of that is wrong with it. Please ask questions and make sure you're are comfortable before bidding. Like I said, I want you to know what you're getting and feel good about it. I have owned this bike forever and have mixed feelings about letting it go. would love for it to go to a good home.

Kawasaki Ninja H2 Teaser Video 7

Fri, 19 Sep 2014

In this, Kawasaki’s seventh teaser video for its much-hyped Ninja H2, we get a short (really short) history of Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ history and experience building industrial gas turbines. Why does this matter? Because it’s this extensive background that went in to designing and building the centrifugal supercharger for the H2.

A reader sent in this news story featured on SWNS.com. Sean Cole, 43, a pizza delivery man has hand-built the transparent kennel and fixed it to the back of his red Kawasaki GPZ900 to carry his dog Gizmo with him when he's out and about. The box has special air holes and a fan to keep the one-year-old dog – a Coton de Tulear – nice and cool on each trip.

Michelin Unveils New Tire for Dual Sport Motorcycles

Wed, 06 Feb 2013

More than half of the new BMW R 1200 GSs that roll off the assembly line in 2013 will be fitted with Michelin’s new big trail tire, the Anakee III. BMW and Michelin worked together to co-develop the dual-sport tire, which is designed to deliver all the safety and off road capability big trail motorcycle users demand. The Anakee III will also be available as a replacement option for other leading dual sport bikes, like the Suzuki V-Strom, Kawasaki KLR, Triumph Tiger and Yamaha Super Tenere.
