Kawasaki kz 1000 description

Sorry to say, Health issues force sale of my 1978 Kawasaki KZ 1000 C-1 Police Motorcycle. This

is the first year for the KZ 1000 police model and based on the Serial Number

KZT00C500162, it appears to be a very early production bike, being the 162 nd

produced. I was told that it was originally a police motorcycle somewhere in the

Northeast. From documents that I have (which are included with the bike), it was

found in a barn in Delaware County Ohio in 2002 and purchased in May of 2003.

It was titled in Ohio in May of 2003 with 24,188 actual miles on the odometer. It

was then sold to someone in New York in February of 2010. When I purchased

the bike in 2012, the odometer read 24,652. It just turned over 25,000 miles on

the odometer. It has a clear Florida title in my name. I have a receipt for

$4,851.94 in work from March 3, 2010, which included rebuilding of the motor,

carburetor’s and full service of all systems. It was badged as a CHiPs bike at some

point.

It is equipped with dual speedometers (originally for locking in an offender’s

speed), with one being functional. The rear box is a non-functional replica and

the bike includes a radio box, rear antenna and siren speaker. Based on the bulbs

and trim rings, the front emergency lights appear to be from a Harley. Overall

condition is very good. There are some chips in the paint on the tank and some

cracks in the left side cover. There is some haze in the windshield. The bike runs

very well and has had recent carburetor work, brakes and fuel petcock.

I  have video of the bike running and driving for serious buyers

WSBK 2013: Jerez Race Report

Mon, 21 Oct 2013

Eugene Laverty did everything he could, scoring a pair of race wins but it was not enough as Tom Sykes rode smartly and conservatively at the season finale in Spain, securing his first ever World Superbike Championship. Sykes landed in Jerez with a 37-point lead over Laverty and a 38-point lead over Sylvain Guintoli. While Laverty battled Marco Melandri to win Race One, Sykes coasted comfortably in third for most of the race to score 16 points, enough to clinch the title.

WSBK to Make Fake Headlight Stickers Mandatory for 2013

Fri, 29 Jun 2012

World Superbike racebikes will be required to have fake headlight stickers on their race fairings to more closely resemble their production series counterparts. The new regulation, set to kick in for the 2013 WSBK season, was designed to establish a closer link between the production model and the race-trim superbike. The new rules will also mandate 17-inch aluminum wheels.

2013 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R Homologated for AMA Pro Racing Despite 636cc Displacement

Wed, 06 Mar 2013

The 2013 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R has been homologated for AMA Pro Racing, making it eligible for the Daytona Sportbike and Supersport classes for 2013. The news comes as a bit of a surprise as those classes typically consist of Inline Four racebikes with a displacement smaller than 600cc. The new Ninja ZX-6R immediately carries a displacement advantage over its I-4 competition in the class such as the Honda CBR600R, Suzuki GSX-R600 and Yamaha YZF-R6.
