Kawasaki KLX tech info
Kawasaki KLX description
I bought this 2003 DRZ 400 from its original owner about 6 months ago.
As you probably know, the KLX 400 is identical to a DRZ 400 except for the
color of the plastics. It is street legal and plated in Georgia. The title is clear and in my name.
This bike is a beast. It has tons of power. The original owner was a motorcycle tech and took great care of it. He maintained it extremely well and upgraded it with everything you can buy for it. Here's a list of upgrades: FCR carburetor & enlarged airbox (huge power increase) Leo Vince exhaust IMS oversize tank Aftermarket seat Rear luggage rack Tool tube Kickstart Oversize radiators Radiator guards Case guards Skidplate Front disc guard Rear disc guard Rim locks Protaper bars Pillow Top grips USB charger Auxiliary LED amber fog lights (1800 lumens apiece) Steering damper Front tire: TKC80 with less than 500 miles Rear tire: Dunlop D606 with less than 500 miles Side panels wrapped with carbon fiber Fuel tank wrapped with black perforated vinyl New battery (less than 2 months old) Manual cam chain tensioner Acerbis Handguards Aftermarket taillight and rear fender I customized the taillight by adding a CBR 600 LED taillight and 4 LED brake lights (very bright!) Included with the bike: Dual sport roll chart IMS folding mirror mount RaceTech springs Brand new SDG seat A set of Michelin AC10 tires All maintenance has been performed (oil changes, fork serviced, rear shock serviced, etc.) The bike runs perfect and has a clean title. There's really nothing wrong with it, I just want something different. Thanks for looking! edit 10/27/16: I will also include my supermoto wheel project with this bike, which consists of a rear 17" 5 spoke wheel from a CBR250, cush drive hub, cush drive rubbers, and sprocket is installed. The rear wheel has a tire on it. The front wheel is a 5 spoke 17" wheel from a Suzuki Gladius. I have new bearings in an envelope that should mount the wheels to the stock DRZ axles. The stock CBR250 rear disc should work. For the front wheel, I was planning on using a 320mm front caliper adapter and a GSXR 310mm rotor. You'll need to make axle spacers to get it all to work. Or you could just take the extra parts and sell them. |

EICMA 2013: 2014 Kawasaki Z1000 First Impressions Video
Tue, 05 Nov 2013“It looks kind of angry!” That pretty much sums up what Editor-in-Chief Kevin Duke thinks of Kawasaki‘s newly redesigned Z1000 and its “sugomi” design philosophy. And for those of you who feel turned off by today’s machines and their dependance on the latest electronics, Kawasaki says the Z1000 does not have traction control because they want to keep it raw and untamed.
