Marco Melandri earned BMW its second ever World Superbike victory to move into second place in the championship standings behind Max Biaggi in the series’ only stop in the United States. Melandri won a red-flagged Race Two at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park after finishing second to defending WSBK Champion Carlos Checa in Race One to give him 142.5 points on the season, tied with Kawasaki‘s Tom Sykes but behind Aprilia‘s Biaggi who leads the way with 160.5 points. Speed and Fuel TV to Broadcast Kawasaki’s Zero to Hero Challenge Starting This Week

Early this year, thousands of drag racers chased the dream and entered Kawasaki’s nationally-promoted “Zero to Hero Challenge,” hoping for the opportunity to face-off against multi-time champion Rickey Gadson and take home a new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14R. Beginning this week, Speed and Fuel TV will broadcast the Zero to Hero Challenge across several time slots. Both cable networks will treat viewers to an inside look at the process all contestants went through on their way to challenging Gadson on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway drag strip in May.

Last night Kawasaki premiered Grassroots: Celebrating 30 Years of Team Green at Oakley sunglasses HQ theater at Oakley headquarters in Foothill Ranch, California. Powersports industry personalities, Team Green racers from all disciplines, friends and journalists were all in attendance to support and celebrate Kawasaki’s commitment to the up-and-coming racer. The 24-minute movie highlights the past and present efforts Kawasaki delivers to amateur racers, turning them into the champions race fans love to celebrate.
