Honda Gold Wing description

1988 GL1500. This bike has not been started or driven, it has been stored for about 3 years. (best guess last ridden March 2013).  Engine turns over but did not attempt to start, would want to go thru and service fuel and other systems before attempting.

PAINT: Fair to good... has a few road "pings" from normal riding.

ENGINE /TRANS.... Engine turns over and transmission goes thru all gears with no problems.

ELECTRICAL: Very good... all lights, radio and CB work fine.

LEATHER: Very good.... Seat has no cuts, rips or blemishes

TIRES: Good.... Still has some miles left on tread, No signs of dry rot or cuts.

This bike is being sold:      AS-IS         WHERE IT IS      Please do not show up thinking that you can ride this home. It will need some service before it is road worthy.

A Weighty Issue

Mon, 03 Nov 2008

For as long as I can remember, motorcycle manufacturers have been playing fast and loose with regard to what they claim for the weight of their bikes. The “dry weights” they foisted upon us had little basis in reality. The “dry” part of that claim meant that listed weights on a spec chart were the result of all fluids being MIA from the bike, including necessities like engine oil, coolant and fork fluid (not to mention fuel), but even that didn’t fully explain the overly optimistic specs.

Motorcycles at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show

Mon, 28 Sep 2009

Two weeks ago, I took a break from my regular duties gathering news for Motorcycle.com to fly to Germany to cover the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show for our sister site AutoGuide.com. For two hectic days, AutoGuide editor Colum Wood and I scrambled across the massive 6.2 million square foot Messe Frankfurt trade fair compound, running from press conference to press conference to get the latest on exotic sport cars, futuristic concept models and international unveilings from the automotive world. It was heaven for car lovers, but for me, it meant fighting my way through hordes of photogs, auto-journalists and car show models to get the first photos of four-wheeled goodies from MINI, Ferrari and Lotus.
