Hello and thank you for checking out this 1995 CR500 that has relatively low hours and is very clean. Green sticker good till June 2015. This bike was bought from one old man by another. When I picked it up 8 years ago I started cleaning it up at bit with new plastics and tires. I installed a Procircuit Platinum pipe that is in great condition, no dings and it also has a brand new spark arrestor silencer so the green sticker works year around. I have a brand new 114 520 chain and sprocket set that is included but the factory one on the bike looks to be in good shape still and it's 17 years old so I never changed it. The bike has few hours because the sprockets are stock and are in good shape. They are just a bit discolored from age otherwise I say run um since they are functionally like new. The tires are the maxis desert tires and they are brand new. The Bars are Honda bend Renthals. There are a few extras it comes with. I have an IMS desert tank, extra like new 49 and 51 tooth rear chain wheels, brand new extra counter shaft sprocket, the 520 chain and various other stuff. Brand new set of front brake pads, 5.4 KG rear spring, the stock front springs, work stand, levers, owners manual.

The suspension is set up great so the bike is not at all wild to ride. It is set up much better than the old stock spring and valving it came with. it has Eibach .46 kg front springs and a 5.2 kg rear spring so it will be working good for riders between 170-200 pounds. Also comes with a 5.4 rear for heavier riders. Even if your a heavier rider, as it sit, it will be way better than stock with the built up suspension. The fork was rebuilt and the suspension was set up at RP it really works good. I wish I ridden it more but it has been more of a garage queen all these years and it was owned by an old man before that. I have a 450 also and have have this just to show it off really. It's such a nice bike. The graphics are not my favorite but that's easy to change and they are not that bad really.

Every seller is gonna say "cleanest bike out there" well I'm not sure I can say that but I can say this one has very low hours and most of the parts on it are from the factory. This is a great example of an era correct, monster big bore open bike that is in very good condition and has not been ridden hard at all. The lower frame rails are completely round so it hasn't been cased out, the factory radiators are parfect and the rear subframe is straight. These are the things that make a bike look and work correct and this one is really straight.

I've had this as a garage queen and had just occasionally ridden it at times just to enjoy it so I possibly have put 20-30 hours on it during the past 8 years. I start it once in a while...fire right off. The previous owner maybe 60-100 hours not sure but the bike is in good shape aside from regular oxidation from age. This bike is a runner and for someone who can turn the throttle and let that 60 Horse power off the hook this will be a good bike that has many years left in it. Needs nothing-- starts right up and everything works as it would have when new years ago. All reasonable offers considered 2795.00 or best offer. Includes all that's pictured. The future. But we can't have it

Thu, 10 Nov 2011

It's no secret that we motorcyclists are getting older. We're ageing because less people are passing their bike test each year (roughly 30,000 last year compared to 50,000 for the 10 years before the new two-part test) and so not only is the pool not growing it's not even being replenished and so the average age isn't being diluted down by yoof. When the going gets tough in any situation, you really get to see who's got their shit-sorted and who's light enough on their feet to adapt to change.

GSX-R600 and CBR250R the glass is half full

Wed, 13 Oct 2010

Suzuki’s GSX-R600 might not look that much different to the outgoing model but I suspect this bike could be very much a dark horse in 2011. I say this because two years ago I was definitely not building my hopes up en route to the K9 GSXR 1000 launch. The leaked pictures suggested the biggest change from the 2007 version would be some fresh graphics but I was so wrong.  As it turned out, I was greeted in Almeria with a brand new bike, built from the tarmac up and it proved to be more than a match in every department for the much hyped 2009 Yamaha R1.
