Honda CR description

Hello,

I'm selling my well used 92 CR250R two stroke. I bought this bike in January to see if I wanted to get back into Motocross.  I used it a few times at the MX track and had a blast on it. For its age, it still can haul ass around the track. It seems like at some point, someone put some work into the suspension as it was soaking up big hits nicely.  Also, this bike definitely had to have been rebuilt recently as the motor runs fantastic.

Now for the bad stuff. Today I headed to the MX track, ready to shred some laps.  When I got out on the track and cranked the throttle, the bike revved but barely moved. To my dismay, the clutch plates are at the end of their life. They probably have been in the bike for quite some time. While looking at the plates, I also noted that the Pro Circuit pipe that is on the bike has developed a crack right in the expansion chamber area. It has not started leaking yet, but it will at some point.

I've only had this bike for a few months. While I had it, I replaced the air filter, rear tire and rear wheel bearings and kill switch. Everything else was in good shape when I bought the bike. I am listing this bike for $700 since it needs a few things before you can ride it.  The bike still runs great, it just doesn't move very well. I am not flexible on the price. If I cannot get $700 for it as is, I will just fix the few things wrong with it and finish out the season on it.

Please feel free to send me a message if you have any questions.  I will not ship the bike. If you decide to move forward with purchasing it, you will need to come to Plymouth Meeting, PA, to pick it up. One final thing, I do not have a title for this bike. I imagine this bike has probably been bought and sold so many times over the past 24 years that the title is long gone (if there even ever was one).

Moriwaki MD250 - the stink wheel eradicator

Tue, 31 Aug 2010

This beautiful motorcycle is the Moriwaki MD250 road racer, the replacement for 125cc two-strokes in MotoGP come 2012. The alloy beam chassis houses Honda’s diminutive CRF250X uni-cam motor, normally seen wearing long travel suspension and knobbly tyres. The quick revving liquid cooled four-stroke motor offers electric-start convenience and a maintenance schedule that most two-stroke racers can only dream of.

Thu, 19 May 2011

If you’ve read with us so far (Day 1, Day 2), you already know we’re on a journey from Virginia to Tennessee on the 2012 Honda Gold Wing. Yesterday we shared how the Wing, improved for 2012, reacted on a rainy day in the curves of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This time, I can report the stately Wing effortlessly pounds out superslab miles.

2012 Honda CRF250L – New Dual Sport with CBR250R Engine

Thu, 01 Dec 2011

The 2011 Tokyo Motor Show has produced a number of new concepts but there is at least one new production model. Honda premiered a new dual-sport powered by a 249cc engine reportedly based on the CBR250R’s power plant. The 2012 Honda CRF250L is a step up from the CRF230L and its carbureted air-cooled 223cc SOHC engine.
