Honda CL tech info
Honda CL description
Bought last year as a basket and spent the winter getting it road ready. Rode this summer and am ready for a new project.
Runs good, shifts good and charges as it should. NEW coils, points, condensor , rectifier, stator, carb boots. carbs rebuilt, taillight, brake cable. wires, seat recovered, etc.
Is actually pretty confortable to ride and faster than I would have thought. Have riddeen with a passenger and had plenty of power. Kick and electric start both work.
Here's the bad, should have carbs rejetted for the velocity stacks, runs too rich. The front brake is marginal, replaced the cable with custom from motion pro but the shoes should be replaced, back stops the bike fine though. Will leave a drop or two of oil after rideing but not enough to matter.
Is not a show piece just a simple chop, no turn signals, or horn. Brake light does work off the rear brake only.
Clear title as a 1971 cl450 so it is easy to plate and insure.

Kenny Roberts Motorcycle Collection Up For Sale
Wed, 25 Apr 2012Motorcycling legend Kenny Roberts has commissioned RMD Motors to auction off some rare and exclusive motorcycles from his collection, presumably to make room for more. The Japan-based company is known the world over for its collection of rare and classic motorcycles for sale, many of which are retired grand prix machines fortunate enough to escape the fate of most decommissioned racebikes: the crusher. Headlining the Roberts collection is the 2004 Proton KRV5 originally ridden by Kurtis Roberts, King Kenny’s youngest son. The five-cylinder grand prix machine never achieved much success on the world stage, but will easily make you the center of attention at your local trackday.
VFR800F Coming to US as 2014 Honda Interceptor
Tue, 04 Feb 2014We’ll admit, we weren’t confident Honda would import the VFR800F to these shores when it was first announced at last fall’s EICMA show in Milan. As such, we are pleased to report American Honda is bringing back the V-4 sport-tourer to the U.S. market as the Honda Interceptor.
Day 1 Dakar 2014: Barreda Draws First Blood
Mon, 06 Jan 2014Team HRC’s Joan Barreda on the Honda CRF450 Rally, got off to a storming start in day one of the 2014 Dakar rally, clocking up the fastest time of all the 175 riders at the first time-check. The former Husqvarna rider who moved to Honda in the middle of the season inaugurated his 2014 Dakar with an acrobatic performance. The motorcycle competition was expected to be wide open, and that is indeed what the classification shows after the opening stage. It was a very early start for the Rally Dakar. The pack of riders headed off at four in the morning on a long 251 miles that took them towards the vibrant city of Rosario for the start of the 112 mile special.
