Honda CL description

I purchased this unrestored California scrambler from the original owners who purchased it new on Sept 12th of 1966. It's been in indoor storage for almost 40 years. The owners stopped riding and parked it in their garage sometime in 1977. I purchased it on Oct 22nd of 2010 and did nothing to it but safely store it indoors for another 6 years. Now its time for a new owner. It has a low 2,216 miles. I have not tried starting it but kicks over freely with lots of compression. It appears a Yuasa battery is still installed, either original or OEM replacement. The original tool kit is in the tool canister. the fuel tank is extremely clean and rust free. The seat is immaculate and supple with no tears or rips. The original owners didn't like the silver scrambler color so they sprayed the bike blue over the original silver sometime in the 70's. You can see the original silver paint on the top of the tank where the blue paint is flaking off. There is a lot of surface rust on the chrome from sitting in the San Francisco air for so long but no rot anywhere. If you're looking for an extremely original, complete and untouched early model CL77 this is it. If you look at the condition of the screw and bolt heads, nothing has been apart. I have all the original documentation the original owners gave me including a dealership bill of sale, California original owners certificate, owners manual, California numbers matching black plate and an authentic Hondamatic dealer voucher for a free 1000 mile service. I can provide free transport within 200 miles. I have a lot more close up photo's so just ask.

Wed, 04 Dec 2013

More and more manufacturers are entering the small-displacement sportbike market and AMA Pro Racing has taken notice, opening the possibility of adding a new racing class representing the growing segment. With plans to consolidate the Daytona Sportbike and Supersport classes and the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series signed through 2015, a spot will open up on race weekends for another racing class to support the premier Superbike Championship. The logical choice is to introduce a new small-displacement class.

Thu, 09 Jan 2014

Red Bull KTM factory rider and three-time Dakar winner Marc Coma won stage five today followed by his teammate Jordi Viladoms and KTM supported rider Kuba Przygonski allowing KTM to scoop the top three places. Today´s stage five from Chilecito to Tucuman was characterized by hot temperatures, lots of sand and navigation in dry vegetation. Organizers decided to cancel the second part of the special for safety reasons and also because heavy thunderstorms threatened the area.
