Honda CBX description

Here is a fairly rare bike, only imported to the US in 1981 and 1982, Hondas 1st big mistake according to Jay Leno who owns a 1981 in Grey and bought it new! This was Hondas answer to the sport touring market-basically a slightly retuned CBX with a fairing and saddle bags that are detachable. Bike has been to California and back-not a showpiece but a attractive rider that definitely turns heads. Only real issue for a 32 yr old bike is the alternator is not charging-very common on these bikes as they age-I have checked the brushes and they are ok and the regulator has been tried too-must be the stator or rotor? I just charge the battery before I want to ride it and never go more than 50mis so it has the reserve to do that. Shifts well, clutch is good with no chatter pulls well from low rpm-a little sleepy till you hit about 6-7000 then sheer magic to and past the redline if you aren't careful! Like ripping silk just wonderful-nothing sounds like it. Starts right up and runs well-stops attractive rides well-no issues with carbs or gearbox-clutch is smooth and strong-shifts like butter. Cam chain doesn't make excessive noise and no oil leaks, a couple of small seeps. Previous owner replaced exhaust with current MAC setup-decent condition with no leaks and sounds awesome but loud-baffles are in but she screams like a Ferrari at 10,000 rpm-this is what a CBX is all about! Air forks and shocks are in terrific condition and I have not had to add air in the time I have owned it-about 4 mnths or so. Pulling the shock knob out to the firm setting really tightens the bike up like the original testers said. Brakes are ok-back is fine and has a later model rotor-front rotors work fine but are a bit scored up. Rims are original and tires have good tread with just a tiny bit of dry rot. Chain and sprockets still have some life but chain is near stretch limit. Feel free to ask questions...bike will come with a factory service manual. Sold as is where is. I am less than two hours from NYC, 30 minutes from Philly, and two hours from Baltimore Please be serious with your offer-an accepted offer is a contract to purchaseClear MA title signed by PO who had bike for many years-no liens.Local Pickup welcome and encouraged

16-year-old Sophie Walls is not your common teenager, along with achieving 14 GCSEs yesterday she balances her studies with being one of the youngest female racers in the country. Sophie rides a Honda RS125 in the Classic Motorcycle Racing Club and was fortunate that the Sir Graham Balfour School she attends in Stafford gives her sporting leave so she can travel to race meetings. She told thisisstaffordshire.co.uk: "My school gave me sporting leave, normally on a Friday, so I could travel to the race meetings.
