2006 Sportster Custom XL, Harley Davidson's "Top-of-The-Line" Sportster series. My Sportster is extremely well-maintained, but hardly ever ridden, only twice this summer. This Sportster features the following: 1200 cc or 73 Cubic Inches V-Twin (But You Know That Already), with 15,784 miles 21" HD "Custom" Chrome Front Wheel with Chrome Rear Wheel Black & Chrome Motor Harley Davidson Sundowner Seat (upgrade) with Removable Back Rest (I have the original seat) 4.5 Gallon Fuel Tank With Decorative Aluminum Center Strip (Unique to the XL) Bassani Exhaust, Flat Black (Very Nice Tone) Re-jetted Carburetor (Professionally Done By Previous Owner) *Note This Is Not Fuel Injected* Auxiliary HD Front Light Kit for Added Safety - Gives It a "Big Bike Look" Rear Smoked LED Brake Light Kit (Much Brighter Than Stock) Front Controls With HD "Flame" Pegs Front Mount Leather Pouch Factory Alarm System With Integrated Front Fork Lock Hard-Wired Battery Tender Plug Includes Two (2) Covers and Battery Tender Leather Saddle Bags Are Available (if you want them & in excellent condition) My Sportster has NEVER been "Dropped", nor has it been exposed to rain or snow. It is in excellent condition even though I am the second owner. I was the ONLY rider (except when it was being maintenance serviced), it was never raced or abused. It is one of the most unique bikes I have ever ridden. It is quick, smooth (as smooth as any Sportster can be), and it was a pleasure to ride alone or with a passenger. Both front and rear HD Dunlop tires are in very good condition with many miles left on them. My Sportster has always been PROFESSIONALLY MAINTAINED by Schaeffer's Harley Davidson in Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania and I have all maintenance records on file. I have no time to ride it anymore and a recent hand injury prevents me, sadly, from safely riding this Sportster. Unfortunately, I am not able to arrange for shipping; it will be the buyer's sole responsibility. But I WILL work with you to ensure that a most convenient means for both of us is achieved. Built For Speed Art Exhibit To Be Displayed At Sturgis Buffalo Chip
Wed, 23 Jul 2014“Built for Speed – Race Inspired Motorcycles and Art” is the title of Michael Lichter’s 14th annual “Motorcycles as Art” exhibition in Sturgis this August, which for the second year in a row, will be jointly curated by Michael and Paul d’Orleans of the Vintagent. ‘Built for Speed’ is sure to impress visitors with a beautiful and thought-provoking display of motorcycles and related art, the race-inspired theme making connections between motorcycle racing and custom bike designs inspired by racers. Each custom bike in ‘Built for Speed’ reflects a branch of racing; Speedway, Flat Track, Drag Racing, Board Track, Grand Prix, Land Speed Record, and will be displayed beside the racing machines suggesting the origins of each style.
New Screamin’ Eagle Drag Racing Championship Series for 2013
Mon, 06 Aug 2012The NHRA today announced the formation of the Screamin’ Eagle Championship Motorcycle Series for 2013. The new series will feature five classes: Top Fuel, Pro Gas, Draggin’ Bagger, Street Pro and Hot Street. The 10-race series will compete at divisional events as part of the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, in addition to the Sportsman ET Motorcycle class that currently competes at various NHRA divisional events.
