Harley-Davidson Sportster tech info
Harley-Davidson Sportster description
Awesome looking bike! 1974 Harley XLH chopper with a 38 degree rake and 1938 Springer front end. Originally 1000cc, increased to 1200cc with stroker kit. Because of stroker kit, kick start does not work and the bike is electric start. New starter. Very sturdy, all welds are well done, and tank is in good condition. Originally bought this while I was serving in the US Army from the person who chopped the bike. It's been sitting in storage for the past couple years so has a little bit of rust and is not currently running. Gas and oil were drained before putting in storage so it is ready to ship. Was running before I put it in storage so assuming it needs a couple hours of work to get it started- oil, new battery, and a safety check. Also I have manuals, receipts, and diagrams from the person who did the modifications. I haven't touched the odometer but I'm not certain what the true mileage is. Was registered in WA and title is from WA also. All in my name. |

Harley-Davdison Museum Opens Tsunami Motorcycle Exhibit
Wed, 24 Oct 2012From Miyagi Prefecture in Japan to Graham Island in British Columbia, Canada, to Milwaukee, Wis., the motorcycle tossed across the Pacific Ocean by the 2011 Japanese tsunami has landed at the Harley-Davidson Museum. The 2004 Harley-Davidson Softail Night Train owned by earthquake and tsunami survivor Ikuo Yokoyama is now on display at the museum as a memorial to those affected by the March 2011 tsunami. The motorcycle will be preserved in the condition it was in when Canadian beachcomber Peter Mark found it inside a cargo box that washed up on Graham Island in May.

Off-Road Motorcycle and Free-Ride Bicycle Compared
Thu, 11 Dec 2008What if anything do bicycles and motorcycles have in common? Besides the whole two-wheel thing, it isn’t outright apparent that these two “handle-barred beasts” share more than ancient ancestry. Modern Off-road motorcycle and Free-ride bicycle designs side-by-side illustrate how much technology the two have in common.
