Harley-Davidson Softail description

custom 2007 soft tail frame by DNA specialty inc. Powered by a 1978 Harley Davidson shovel head motor with s&s heads, intake and carb. 4 speed transmission. Full custom stretched front end. 200 mm rear tire on aluminum maltese cross wheel. Nice chrome all around. This is a really cool stripped down chopper, no speedo, no directional lights. This bike runs great, shifts great and feels really nice when riding, it has a dual chrome shock soft tail rear suspension. The seat needs to be re-sewn to the base and it could use a paint job, it was a nice metallic blue, but some fuel came out of the tank opening and bubbled up the paint so it was painted flat black (this was done by the previous owner). It looks really cool the way it is with the chrome and flat black paint. comes with the Manufacturers Statement of Origin (mso) and a New York State title, titled as a 1978 Harley Davidson. Needs nothing to ride, has electric start and kick start. Call Brian at (518) 424-9769 for complete details.

Motorcycle Ride for Diabetes

Fri, 23 Jan 2009

Photograph by: Roy Antal, Leader-Post By and large, motorcyclists are some of the most generous citizens in the world. Riding events all over the world bring in untold millions of dollars for numerous worthy charities. Keeping with this theme, one hardy Canadian rider is braving the Great White North’s frigid winter temperatures by riding his Harley coast to coast to raise awareness for diabetes, a disease that has seen a rapid explosion of new afflictions.

Bonhams To Auction Wayne Pierce Family Collection Of Motorcycles Jan. 9, 2014, In Las Vegas

Fri, 04 Oct 2013

On January 9, 2014, during the fourth annual Las Vegas Sale of motorcycles at Bally’s Hotel and Casino, Bonhams, the world’s largest auction house for cars, motorcycles and memorabilia, will be auctioning off over 50 motorcycles from the extensive Wayne Pierce family museum collection, all offered at no reserve. Among the machines is a first-year Harley-Davidson Sportster believed to be the 10th XL883 produced in 1957, a 1933 Harley VLE police bike that saw actual duty on the streets of Chicago before being cast in the 1987 Kevin Costner gangster movie, “The Untouchables,” and an authentic and unrestored 1947 Harley Knucklehead wearing period aftermarket accessories. Wayne “Pappy” Pierce started his Harley-Davidson dealership in 1957, run out of a one-room tin shed in DeKalb, Illinois.
