Harley-Davidson Other description
1966 HD Sprint 250cc Model H
Well preserved 50 year old Sprint 250cc. Normally you would find these motorcycles in beat up and very used shape. This one is a one owner with original title and all the other paperwork you'd get from the dealer, McGovern HD of Grand Rapids, Michigan. I had changed the oil, installed a new 12V battery and cleaned the carb out. Runs very nice, shifts excellent, brakes, horn, lights all work excellent and tires in good shape. You can ride this bike as is but will need the gas tank cleaned out as fresh gas starts to yellow after a day or two of sitting. I installed a large fuel filter to catch any debris and to check the yellowing of the gas. The seat has no rips or tears and isn't brittle, tail light lens has no cracks, all spokes tight with no rust on rims. Original sprockets and chain showing little to no wear. This is the first year for the large bore short stroke 250 and the engine does not smoke or clatter, good solid running bike ready to be ridden or take the time to do a light restoration. Payment due in 7 days after end of auction, check or cash at time of pick up, No PayPal. Checks must clear before you take the bike. I can store the bike for as long as needed up to 90 days as long as it's paid for. I will also assist with any shipper that you may use to have the bike shipped. |

Survey Says Harley-Davidson and BMW Motorcycles Less Reliable Than Japanese – But Owners Don’t Care
Tue, 26 Mar 2013A new survey conducted by the Consumer Reports National Research Center finds BMW and Harley-Davidson owners are much more likely to report major problems with their motorcycles than owners of Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha motorcycles. The survey, which will appear on the April 2013 issue of Consumer Reports, says one in three BMW owners reported experiencing a major problem with their bikes in the last four years. Harley-Davidson owners were slightly better, with one in four reporting serious issues.
