This Flying Merkel tribute bike is so much fun to ride or just sit with a beverage and buddies and look at. Check your local regulations but the only time I have been stopped was for them to ask how old it was and how much it was worth!
The bike was built by Cory Reed of Reed's Vintage Cycle. We made a blue and orange one. This bike will be shipped as seen in the pictures with a set of IF IT HAS WHEELS handlebars. One of their first sets. I believe that for a rider or display, a patinaed bike like this only becomes more real as it is ridden. If you scrub a rim, simply deflate the tire, get some spray primer and touch it up. It is easy to ride. Simply pedal while holding the clutch, release the clutch and ride on. You will not be disappointed! I will deliver the bike to your carrier of choice in the Roanoke Virginia area. We are members of many Vintage groups such as Hodaka, Penton Owners Group, AHRMA, PVR, etc. We only do business that makes us both smile! 2014 Harley-Davidson Fat Bob Receives Dark Custom Makeover
Mon, 19 Aug 2013The Harley-Davidson Fat Bob is returning for 2014 with a new blacked-out look as the latest model to get H-D’s Dark Custom look. The new, darker Fat Bob features a number of blacked-out components including the powertrain and air cleaner cover, rear shock covers, triple clamps, headlight trim, console and battery box cover. The machined aluminum slotted disc wheels have also been received a black powdercoated finish as well as a laser-ingraved Harley-Davidson logo and rim stripe.

The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. The WLD Special Sport Solo was a ringer in its day.
Survey Says Harley-Davidson and BMW Motorcycles Less Reliable Than Japanese – But Owners Don’t Care
Tue, 26 Mar 2013A new survey conducted by the Consumer Reports National Research Center finds BMW and Harley-Davidson owners are much more likely to report major problems with their motorcycles than owners of Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha motorcycles. The survey, which will appear on the April 2013 issue of Consumer Reports, says one in three BMW owners reported experiencing a major problem with their bikes in the last four years. Harley-Davidson owners were slightly better, with one in four reporting serious issues.
