Harley-Davidson Sportster description
I have up for sale my 2014 Forty Eight. Long story short, I have a 49 state Harley that does not meet California requirements and now unable to register it.
History of the bike- I bought this as a floor model from MAS (Military Auto Source) Iwakuni, Japan last September. The bike has been in storage for the winter. With last minute order changes, I unexpectedly had to pack up and ship it to California in February and later arrive in April. Upon numerous attempts to register it here, I'm cutting my losses and will put it up for sale. Extras- I also purchased this bike with a 5 year transferable warranty with unlimited tires. Only mod I installed on the bike was the lower turn signal mount. Please feel free to contact me in regards to any questions or concerns. Thank you! |

Shelved Harley-Davidson Penster Tilting Trike Prototypes Revealed
Thu, 04 Aug 2011The Harley-Davidson Museum has pulled the covers off discarded prototypes of a leaning three-wheeled motorcycle developed by The Motor Company. Harley-Davidson commissioned automobile hot rodding legend John Buttera to build the original prototype (pictured above) in 1998. Codenamed the “Penster”, the Trike looks like it could have been an earlier version of the Can-Am Spyder, but it had a tilting front end similar to the Piaggio MP3.
Watch As Motorcyclist Gets Chased By Elk – Video
Mon, 14 Oct 2013Apparently, elks aren’t too keen on motorcyclists, as the video below demonstrates. This couple, aboard what sounds like a Harley-Davidson (that potato-potato exhaust note is unmistakeable), were riding along in Missoula, Montana when this elk decided he wanted to take the road for himself. As traffic slowed and eventually passed, the elk took a growing interest in the couple on the motorcycle, approaching them.
Harley-Davidson and an American Hero
Fri, 07 Dec 2012As motorcyclists, we’re drawn to the freedom two wheels represent; just man, machine and the open road. The feeling rings true today as it did 72 years ago, when Wallace Van Sandt, of Birmingham, Alabama, took delivery of his 1941 Harley-Davidson WLD Special Sport Solo, purchased new in 1940 for $365 (roughly $5800 in today’s money) by his father as a high school graduation gift. The WLD Special Sport Solo was a ringer in its day.
