Harley-Davidson Other description

This is a beautiful project for someone!! there was an absolute fortune spent on this engine and transmission.  My good friend and antique motorcycle mechanic of 30 years built this whole driveline.  engine is a matching belly number 64 with immaculate cases  entire engine is built back to stock, lower end is blue printed and balanced and true as it gets. heads are perfect and totally rebuilt as well.  this engine is ready to bolt in and go, needs NOTHING.  not built by an amateur, jon is the best in the business and this is built by him with the best parts money can buy.  CCE rocker covers, auto advance timer, rebuilt M74B linker carb, bare knuckle air cleaner that matches rockers and kicker cover.  Transmission is totally rebuilt as well with a perfect original harley case, all Andrews gears and shafts also built by jon   brand new BDL belt drive assembly.  1964 drop seat frame in near perfect condition. swing arm has brand new bushings and bearings installed.  I have clear NH paperwork in my name for this bike  i can crate and ship anywhere in the world   shipping cost is up to the buyer.   this isn't a typical junker panhead, its the best of everything and will run smoother than a brand new one

Louisiana Bill Updates Maximum Handlebar Height Legislation

Thu, 17 May 2012

Louisiana state lawmakers have approved a bill that would change the maximum height of motorcycle handlebars. Current state law restricts handlebar height to no more than 15 inches above the seat, a somewhat arbitrary level, but a common choice with 17 other states. The House has voted 87-0 in favor of Senate Bill 582 to change the maximum height to the rider’s shoulder level, as measured while sitting on the seat.

Tue, 09 Oct 2012

Americans reported 46,667 motorcycle thefts in 2011, a 6% decrease from 49,791 stolen motorcycles in 2010, reports the National Insurance Crime Bureau. Despite the drop in reported thefts, the non-profit organization representing nearly 1100 property and casualty insurance companies says the theft rate still averages out to one motorcycle stolen every 11 minutes in the U.S. The numbers were published in the NICB’s 2011 ForeCAST Report which examined theft reports as well as recoveries.
