Harley-Davidson Custom description

Here we have a custom-built Harley Davidson using a 2000 Deuce as it's foundation. We were going for an "East L.A." / "Cholo" look so we used Hammerworks as the builder, fabricator and painter on this build. There are so many parts and pieces that have been customized and fabricated that it is difficult to know where to begin my description...but here goes! Starting with the tins. The front fender is a Harley dresser fender that has been trimmed down and fabricated to fit the Deuce front end and hug that 21" front wheel. The rear fender is a 100% special fabbed fiberglass fender specifically created for this build. Last of all is the gas tank. This is a stock, Deuce tank cut into three pieces using a band saw. Two additional pieces of sheet metal were added, welded and finished-off making this a truly one-of-a-kind tank. The tank is now really fat up front with a narrow waste and able to hold over 6 gallons of gas. Next is the engine. She comes with a warmed-up motor that is a real hot rod! The motor has the stock cam tensioners replaced with S&S gear driven cams so...no cam tensioners! The cams are warmed up and the horse power has been increased. There is also a "Thunder Slide" in the carb for improved performance. Exhaust is through a Vance and Heins header into a single, straight fishtail exhaust. The seat is custom made using the stock harley pan and finished off in a circa 1970's Sparkle-White naugahyde. Last of all comes the paint. Hammerwerks is nationally know for capturing the East LA paint schemes of the mid 70's low-riders and California Cholos. He really hit this one out of the park using a combination of fades and fingerprint foundations. Heavy on flake and multi-colored prisms this bike is a real show stopper. Last month we entered the bike in a large show here in Missouri and it overwhelmingly placed first and brought home the trophy for "Best Of Paint"! Since this bike was built to be a dependable, daily-rider it has just gone through an extensive inspection and service with all fluids being changed and all adjustments being made. Tires and brakes are good and this bike is ready to be ridden anywhere! There are 50,500 miles on her now but with over $3000 in engine improvements she is ready to go another 50,000 miles with no problem! If you have any questions please feel free to call me at (636)346-7688. Thanks, jim

Harley-Davidson World Ride Scheduled for June 22–23

Tue, 06 May 2014

There’s something about sharing in a popular consciousness. Participating in an activity that is also taking place at the same time all over the world adds a special meaning to the event. Begun in 2008 by the Harley Owners Group as Million Mile Monday and renamed and enlarged in 2012 toHarley-Davidson World Ride, this event simply asks all “friends of Milwaukee” to get on their hogs and ride on June 22–23.

Japanese Bike Shop Giving Away Harley-Davidson with Life-Sized Anime Character

Mon, 15 Apr 2013

Japanese shop Bike-O is holding a draw with a rather unique grand prize: a used 2008 Harley-Davidson Electra Glide with a life-sized figure of anime character Fujiko Mine from the long-running anime and manga series “Lupin III“. We’re not sure whether the motorcycle or the statue is supposed to be the bigger prize here, to be honest. Obviously, we’d rather have an actual road-worthy Harley-Davidson Electra Glide with a custom “champagne pink” paint job.

Harley’s Behind the Scenes at The Art of Rebellion

Wed, 06 May 2009

On February 7th, 2009, at the Robert Berman Gallery in Santa Monica’s Bergamot Station Arts Center, Harley-Davidson gathered 11 of today’s most relevant and exciting artists to present their take on the theme of rebellion. Because the event was so popular, The Art of Rebellion one-night only event quickly became a month long showing. Artwork was for sale and the proceeds were donated to Art Matters, a foundation that assists socially and aesthetically groundbreaking artists.
