Chopper Chopper description

Offered on Ebay right now is a pristine (2005) 200x Eddie Trotter Thunder Cycle Softail, one owner has kept this bike in showroom condition.  This bike has a 113 cu in s & s motor with a 6 speed right side drive transmission and a primo Rivera brute 4 belt drive.  The frame was built at Thunder Cycle with 44 degrees rake, it was built with plus 4 in the downtube and 5 inches in the top tube, it has a drop seat with progressive softail shocks, rear wheel holder, 300 mm Metzler tire.  The front forks are 63 mm inverted with the 21 inch front wheel.  Wheels were built by RC Components.  The Jeffrey Phipps seat was made out in a baby crocodile color is Conjac.  the brakes are Hawg halter 4 piston in chrome.  The bike has 4K miles.  Originally paid $95k.

Normally when I think of a custom chopper, I envision something like Wyatt’s Captain America bike or even retro re-creations like the Harley Davidson Cross Bones. After all the act of chopping normally referred to forks and frames, not chopping wood. A unique ride recently added to eBay breaks from this tradition with a wooden hot rod built around the engine and transmission from a 1952 Ariel Square 4 motorcycle.

According to the New York Post, David Letterman is a big motorcycle fan and could watch the same bike being built all week long. One of Letterman’s bikes did appear in the September 2008 issue of American Iron Magazine and he also wrote the forward to Paul Teutul Sr.’s new book “The Ride of a Lifetime” so I guess he walks the walk and talks the talk. If you don’t already know who Paul Teutul Sr.
