Yamaha YZF-R description

2006 Yamaha Yzf-R1 , I bought this bike in 2008 and have loved and taken care of it. Now that I have a newborn son, I haven't been able to ride it, so selling it. Here is all I know about the bike for your information: The bike had some damage to it when I purchased it, so I had it stripped down to a bare engine block and rebuilt with new parts, where needed, and checked by mechanics and "Dr John's MFC" for trueness. Since the rebuild, this bike is by far the best R1 I've ever had, and I've had four. The fairings were originally yellow and sprayed over with matt black on the LHS since I wasn't too bothered about it (looks like mad max!) The RHS looks near perfect except for little scuffs on the air ducts. The bike has been ridden on the track at moderate speeds during school and track days and slowly on the street. Never raced. I've never had any issues with this bike and it feels solid and precise going straight and leaned over in a turn. The bike is trickle charged in the garaged sitting on front and rear stands with the tires off the ground. I run the bike and lube the chain every now and then because it doesn't get ridden often and also because I like hearing it. An STM slipper clutch was installed in 2009 and works beautifully (prevents rear wheel hop when braking and downshifting). The front and rear sprockets were replaced with JT sprockets of the same size as standard (17/45) The front sprocket cover was not replaced since I like seeing the sprocket exposed. Super-strong D.I.D. ZVM2 530 chain with master-link installed Oil, filter and spark plugs have been changed every 6 months to a year. Air box has been swapped for a K&N air filter. Stock exhaust is mounted, but I have a full LeoVince titanium exhaust system: headers, midsection, and tailpipes (which I got with the bike scratched and dented ). Other custom features include: Flush-mount LED turn signals on the side fairings Orange bulbs replaced on the front of the bike sidelights work as turn signals also Integrated rear taillight with brake and turn signals really cleans up the back of the bike Dark standard shape/size windshield (not double bobble since I don't like those) Aftermarket top triple clamp Scotts mechanical and adjustable steering damper Power commander 3 USB (PCIII USB) Smog block off plates installed Black reflective pinstripe tape on the wheels reflect white at night Bridgestone BT-003 Race/Street Tires: Rear 190/50/ZR17, Front 120/70 ZR17 Solo seat cowl with rear pillion/passenger pegs removed since I never ride with a passenger (I have the hardware and a brand new seat if desired to use) Apart from the features listed above, the bike is stock. This R1 has been great to me and I hope whoever buys it will enjoy it just as much as me. Please feel free to ask me any questions and I'll be happy to answer them the best I can. Thanks for lookin $7,000.00

Stoner to Miss Brno for Surgery – Title Defence Likely Over

Thu, 23 Aug 2012

Casey Stoner has withdrawn from the Brno, Czech Republic MotoGP round to undergo surgery on his injured ankle. Trailing Yamaha‘s Jorge Lorenzo by 39 points and Honda teammate Dani Pedrosa by 21 points with seven rounds to go, Stoner’s hopes of repeating as MotoGP champion before retiring at the end of the season are all but dashed. The Repsol Honda rider injured his ankle in a high side crash in last weekend’s Indianapolis Grand Prix.

Three-year-old donuts

Wed, 29 Dec 2010

This is the son of stunt riding genius Christian Pfeiffer, Hannes, who at the age of three can already do donuts better than you. Not only is this the most adorable thing to ever feature on Visordown but it seems as though the genes run in the family as young Hannes Pfeiffer is making his dad proud on a 90cc Yamaha quad.
