1957 Yamaha 125cc Y-A1

Hello Yamaha Motorcycle Enthusiasts and collectors.  Here’s an extremely rare and highly sought after 1957 Yamaha 125cc Y-A1.

The Yamaha YA1 is the first motorcycle model ever built by Yamaha Motorcycle Company.  Production years were 1955 - 1958 for the Japanese market only.  Known as the Red Dragonfly, this bike was the 9th Yamaha motorcycle built during the 1957 production year.  Yamaha VIN #A57-9009.

For Yamaha fans, this might be the crown jewel of any serious enthusiast’s collection.  The Y-A1 is Yamaha’s first motorbike. Famous not just for being a successful racing machine right off the bat, but also introducing the clutch-in, kick-start system used on virtually every bike afterwards until the age of electronic ignition.  This bike still has its original tires, original seat, original grips and original foot pegs which are all very rare for a Yamaha YA1’s.

We’re told by the owner that this motorcycle was on display in the famous Japanese Iwashita Collection Main Museum since the early 1960’s.  Mr Iwashita’s museum sat at the base of Mount Fuji which was also the start of the famous Mt Fuji motorcycle race.  When Mr Iwashita passed his collection was sold and this 1957 Yamaha Y-A1 was shipped to the United States.  This is a fully running, all original condition Yamaha Y-A1.

Power Sports International is Michigan’s largest pre-owned motorcycle and ATV dealer.  We offer amazing rates for shipping both internationally and domestic. Domestic shipments are moved via enclosed trailer and fully insured - normally a 2 week window. International shipments are crated and insured for your safety and run 4-6 weeks from port to port.

Thanks and enjoy the photos of this rare Yamaha Y-A1 Motorbike
