Yamaha XS description

1981 Yamaha XS650 Street Tracker, Gene Romero tribute, no expense spared, AHRMA

Listing for a senior friend of mine who is not an Ebayer. A dirt tracker that is fully street legal !

He built it over a number of years and it was a labor of love for a Gene Romero fan (see final pic for Gene's track bike).

Clean IL title in hand. Many parts from Omar's Dirt Tracking. There is a little under $11,000 in this build.

This bike always draws a crowd at bike rallies / shows and has been in several national magazines.

Battery good, always on a tender (located under seat with a tender lead)

Yamaha Focusing on Developing Model Platforms

Mon, 22 Sep 2014

Following the success of its MT platform, Yamaha says it will continue to develop new models based on shared platforms, allowing for a choice of multiple models while reducing overall costs. Speaking in a presentation on the company’s business operation, Yamaha Motor President Hiroyuki Yanagi reiterated the strategy of developing multiple models sharing the same engine and frame. Honda has followed a similar strategy with its NC models, seeing the platform evolve to include the CTX700 and NM4.

Hipsters: How not to live your life

Mon, 07 Feb 2011

I have to start this piece by stating that I'm not from London. I may work here but I grew up in a remote North Western market town where people were (rightly) suspicious of anything or anybody new. Back to London.

Yamaha Reports 2013 Sales Results

Wed, 12 Feb 2014

Yamaha reported a 1.2% decrease in motorcycle sales in 2013 but managed to increase its net sales revenue by 16.2%, thanks in large part to the depreciation of the Japanese yen. According to the company’s 2013 fiscal report, Yamaha sold 6,014,000 motorcycles last year, down slightly from 6,090,000 sold in 2012. The good news however, is most of the sales decrease was limited to Thailand and Vietnam where the economy worsened in 2013, while Yamaha’s sales increased in nearly all other markets.
