Yamaha XS description

I'm selling my '78 XS400 tracker. I've put a ton of work, custom and new parts into the bike. Here's a list although I'm sure I'll forget some things:

-Modified frame, shaved of all un-needed tabs, with XS650 rear loop added
-XS650 front end and wheel, lowered, new seals and fluids
-Sportster tank with custom mounts and petcock bung
-Custom seat
-Vintage cocktail shaker mufflers, and Unity Headlight
-Custom battery box, splash plate, rear fender, cut down stock front fender
-New, minimal wiring
-New: battery, dual sport tires, bars, mirror, grips, cables, taillight, headlight bulb (very bright spotlight), shocks, UNI air filters, stainless brake lines, lug wires, Magura front master cylinder
-Rebuilt rear caliper, good used front caliper
-Custom headlight shroud
-Points adjusted
-Carbs ultrasonicly cleaned and jetted for the pods and the pipes

The bike only has 3600 original miles (I have the original speedo). It runs great, stops quickly, and handles like its on rails. The bike is super fast for a 400, and is a 6 speed too! The charging system is working properly as well. The paint and upholstery aren't perfect, I did them myself. I have a clean title from the previous owner.

I'm located up in Kingston but can deliver to the city or anywhere within 100 miles for $1 a loaded mile. Shipping is the responsibility of the buyer but I can drop it off at a shipper, or meet them locally. $500 deposit on PayPal required within 48 hours of the auctions close, the rest due in cash upon pickup, unless other agreements are made.

Yamaha Wraps Up Sepang MotoGP Test

Thu, 02 Feb 2012

Pre-season test lap times aren’t a precise barometer for how the 2012 MotoGP Championship season will go, but Yamaha has to feel good about its results after this week’s testing at Malaysia’s Sepang circuit. Last February at Sepang, Honda riders were the talk of the preseason session, taking three of the top four lap times on each day of the test. That pattern repeated itself in the final championship standings with Casey Stoner taking the championship, Dani Pedrosa finishing third and Andrea Dovizioso fourth.

New Photos and Video of Yamaha PES1 Electric Concept

Wed, 20 Nov 2013

Yamaha has released additional images and a video of its new PES1 electric motorcycle for the concept’s debut at the Tokyo Motor Show. The new photographs, shot at Yamaha’s display at the Tokyo show, show more details about the PES1 concept, which Yamaha first announced earlier this month. The PES1 shares the same electric DC brushless motor, lithium-ion battery and monocoque frame as the PED1 concept which also took its bow in Tokyo.

Yamaha to Produce PES1 and PED1 Electric Motorcycles by 2016

Mon, 21 Apr 2014

Yamaha announced plans to release the production versions of its PES1 and PED1 concept models within two years as part of the company’s plans to enter the electric motorcycle segment. The PES1 and PED1 (which stands for “Passion, Electric, Street” and “Passion, Electric, Dirt”) concepts were first revealed at last November’s Tokyo Motor Show. In the company’s newly-published annual report, Yamaha confirmed plans to produce the two models, saying: “In sports motorcycles, we are working to create new value with EV sports motorcycles, which we aim to launch in two years, with the development of the small, on-road sports PES1, as well as the PED1, which are being developed to expand the scope of electric vehicles to the off-road world.
