Yamaha RT1 description

I have this first year Yamaha RT1 360 up for auction. This is a mostly original bike, and has the most essential parts on it. It turns over no problem, and shifts into gear. The paint is original, but there are some scratches. I will explain the issue with engine number. I can see the 00186 on the engine, but it is scuffed. I checked the numbers, and it has not been reported stolen. The vin tag has been left alone on the neck, so the buyer can swap engines or do what's desired to get a title. I would appreciate it if I don't get bombarded with questions about about the number because its not my doing, and the bike can simply be a parts bike if anything. Therefore, bid on this bike accordingly. These are very rare bikes, and are getting even harder to find. Happy Bidding!

Thanks!

Yamaha U.S. Increasing Club Level Road Racing Contingency

Fri, 21 Feb 2014

The state of road racing in America is hurting, there’s no doubt about that. But at least Yamaha is stepping up to the plate and increasing its contingency program for club level road racers 50% over last year. According to Yamaha, the program is designed to encompass a broad spectrum of road racing series across the U.S., from numerous club-level and regional sprint series events to the AMA Pro Road Racing series, including the addition of the ASRA Team Challenge Endurance Series.

1999 Yamaha YZF-R1: 165-miles

Wed, 05 Dec 2012

This is what auctioneers would call an 'investment grade vehicle'. I'd call it a bit of a waste. This 1999 Yamaha YZF-R1 has only covered 165-miles since new, that's an average of 12.6 miles a year..
