Yamaha Other description

2011 Yamaha Stryker, Raked and Ready to Ride!Though visually similar to Star's Raider, the Stryker features an all-new steel frame and is powered by a 1,304cc, water-cooled V-twin. A tweaked version of the V-Star 1300, this four valve-per-cylinder engine, mated to a five-speed transmission, directs power to the rear wheel via a carbon-reinforced belt. With its EPA estimate of 40.9 mpg, Stryker should be capable of squeezing 160 miles out of one four-gallon tank of gas. With a seat height of 26.4 inches the lowest in the Star lineup Stryker doesn t feel intimidating to swing a leg over. The bike's low center of gravity certainly helps you feel like you're sitting more "in" the bike than "on" it. Stryker's controls are more cruiser than chopper-like: pegs are forward, but the reach to the handlebars isn't quite so extreme, allowing for a more upright posture. This example is in stock trim with less than 2,000 miles on the odometer. There is a minor key rub mark adjacent to the ignition (shown in photos). Stop in today to schedule your free test ride!

Q3 2013 US Motorcycle Sales Results

Fri, 01 Nov 2013

Motorcycle and scooter sales in the U.S. in 2013 remain consistent with last year’s figures, according to data released by the Motorcycle Industry Council. Several manufacturers blamed poor weather for the poor start this year, and the rebounding sales in the third quarter helped to negate the slow sales from earlier in the year.

Small-Displacement Class Considered for 2015 AMA Pro Racing Season

Wed, 04 Dec 2013

More and more manufacturers are entering the small-displacement sportbike market and AMA Pro Racing has taken notice, opening the possibility of adding a new racing class representing the growing segment. With plans to consolidate the Daytona Sportbike and Supersport classes and the Vance & Hines Harley-Davidson series signed through 2015, a spot will open up on race weekends for another racing class to support the premier Superbike Championship. The logical choice is to introduce a new small-displacement class.

Mon, 28 Nov 2011

Yamaha Motor Europe asked three of the world’s top builders to work their magic on the company’s flagship power cruiser, the VMax. America’s Roland Sands, Germany’s Marcus Walz and Ludovic Lazareth of France each set to work and create three different interpretations on the Yamaha VMax. These “Hyper Modified” custom Yamaha VMax models were unveiled at Yamaha’s stand at the EICMA show earlier this month, and we placed them at #4 on our Top 10 EICMA Show Bikes You May Have Missed list.
