Up for auction is a 1969 Triumph TR 6 C. This bike has been restored. The bolts have been cad plated, Dunlop rims re chromed,Headlight has been re chromed, new fenders and exhaust. Black parts on the bike have been powder coated.The gas tank is a nos and this is the first time it ever had gas in it. The gas tank does have a few chips in the paint and scratches from sitting on a shelf for 47 years. The motor was completely rebuilt from bottom to top, by a Engine builder that is an expert in British Bike Restorations. Bike runs, rides and stops as it should. Transmission shifts as it should. Comes with a Clear Michigan Title in my name. Look at all the photos and ask questions before bidding. Bike is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. He originally ran a series of fuel challenges in the eighties and now the economy has taken a nose dive, he has resurrected the competition, figuring that the time is now right to highlight these issues again. According to Vetter, three of every four American gallons of petrol is imported – reason enough to devote his time to raising awareness.
Are Motorcycles Safer With Antilock Brakes?
Tue, 30 Dec 2008A new report says riders with ABS-equipped bikes can dramatically reduce the chance of a fatal accident. The study compared fatality rates among riders on bikes that have antilock brakes, and it found that death rates were 38% lower on motorcycles equipped with the optional ABS systems compared to non-ABS bikes. In 2005-2006, the fatal crashes per 10,000 registered motorcycles without antilock brakes was 6.6.
