Triumph Street Triple description

2013 Triumph Street Triple R ABS - Phantom Black, SOLD! Thank you & Congratulations Steve from the Entire GCM Team!!! - See why EVERYONE is buying from Gulf Coast Motorcycles!! Triumph’s engineers have honed this roadster to perfection, giving it supersport specification, suspension and brakes. With power, torque and even more excitement, this is the most fun you can have on two wheels. Its lightweight chassis is even more dynamic, delivering greater levels of agility and precision while keeping you firmly planted. Fitted with additional adjustable front forks, an RSU with both pre-load and damping adjustment the Street Triple R offers renowned ride quality, handling and control. The liquid-cooled 12-valve triple, combined with a close ratio 6-speed gearbox produce an exhilarating ride, and the under-engine silencer helps lower the center gravity and improve handling. The Nissin radial 4-piston brakes are built to match the bike’s high performance, coping easily with higher speed and rapid deceleration. And the Street Triple R features state-of-the-art anti-lock brakes as standard that can cope with even the hardest braking. And because the ABS system is switchable, it can be easily deactivated whenever necessary via the instrument panel – it will then automatically re-activate when the motorbike is re-started. The Street Triple R has distinctive good looks too, with stylish brushed metal finishes, aggressive headlights and a choice of colors complimenting the dark powder coated engine and the telltale red rear subframe, red side radiator cowls, and red pin stripe detailing to the wheels. The Street Triple R is not a subtle motorbike. It’s a bike with unmistakable attitude, for riders who want to take it to the max. Triumph’s new Thunderbird Commander and Thunderbird LT are being introduced to the world’s media this week in San Diego, California. MO’s Associate Editor and FNG, Evans Brasfield, is on the scene and ready to test the latest versions of Triumph’s big cruiser, now with a new frame. The Commander sports a tougher image than the regular Thunderbird, boasting dual bug-eye headlights and a beefy 47mm Showa fork holding a fat 140/75-17 tire.

Bonneville from a parallel universe

Fri, 20 Sep 2013

This is the Triumph Speed Twin Concept, a bike commissioned by Triumph to show what the Bonneville might have evolved into, in a parallel universe. I love the concept. Designed by Roy Norton and Tom Kasher who were on a placement at a design studio, I get the impression the pair are into motorcycle and not just designers.

AMA Pro Racing Announces Basic Twins Flat Track Class for 2014 Season

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

AMA Pro Racing announced a new class for Flat Track racing designed to provide a new stepping stone for up-and-coming Pro-licensed racers, replacing the Pro Singles class in 2014. The new class, to be called Basic Twins, is more or less a revival of the Basic Expert Twins division that ran during the 2007 and 2008 seasons, but dropped when the Pro Singles class was introduced for 2009. The new class will give young racers a chance to showcase their skills on Twins, easing their transition to eventually enter the Grand National Expert Twins class.
