Triumph Sprint description

Up for sale is my 2000 Sprint ST 955i with ONLY 3455 miles (+/- I continue to drive it) I bought this bike as a project. It is fuel injected, with a single-sided rear swingarm.  It was wrecked but only needed plastic. Frame is straight, all gauges are as original. MILEAGE IS ORIGINAL!!!  The bike had been sitting for a few years when I bought it. I clean the injectors, and replaced the fuel pump, changed all the fluids and replace the battery and plugs and the bike started right up. The plastic was bought used from a salvage company in Idaho and has random scratches. (see photos) I replaced the scratched up gas tank with an original Triumph tank with original matching blue paint and Triumph carbon fiber tank protector. This bike starts right up and runs strong, no ground/earth issues (common to triumphs), fuel gauge works properly, electrical system charges properly. The fuel injection is smooth.   I did not clean the bike up for the pictures so it will clean up and look better with a little time an effort.

I took the red hard case triumph luggage from a second Sprint ST 955i that I purchased for parts.  (That bike is also for sale and will be listed later.) That is why the luggage and bike colors do not match.  I have Green Triumph bags/liners (2) that will be included with the purchase.  My intention was to put the bike back together and then have the entire thing repainted. My new job requires that I travel a lot and I just don't get to ride anymore. While this bike is being sold AS-IS, I would have no reservation in throwing a leg over and going for one of those long "iron-butt" rides.

The bike has as Ohio Rebuilt Salvage title. This means the bike was repaired, it was then inspected at an Ohio State Troopers Inspection point where the receipts were shown for the replacement parts.  Only after this inspection is the bike certified road ready and a title can be obtained.  I have the title in hand, the bike is ready for the road all it needs is a new ower. All you need to do is buy it, transfer the title and go. If you know anything about these bikes they are great for long distance rides and you can get a tone of miles out of them.

Again, this bike is being sold AS-IS. Please ask any questions before bidding.  Please email with any questions or call me (Jason) at 419-575-5780.
Winning bidder is responsible for arranging pick-up/shipping.  Winning bidder must deposit $300.00 via PayPal within 24 hours of the auctions end and complete the purchase within 7 days of auctions end OR make other arrangements with seller. Please check my seller rating, I do not sell crappy products and I complete transactions quickly.   I will provide electronic copies of the parts receipts, pictures of the bike as it was being rebuilt, and an electronic copy of the Triumph Service Manual for this bike to the winning bidder. HERE IS YOUR CHANCE TO GET A BIG BORE, FUEL INJECTED, BRITISH BIKE AT A FRACTION OF WHAT IT WOULD COST TO BUY ONE WITH SIMILAR MILEAGE.

On Aug-19-13 at 18:22:40 PDT, seller added the following information:

I forgot to mention.  This bike is equipped with Throttlemeister bar ends and a new Battery Tender (I believe that's the brand) trickle charger purchased for this bike.

Twin-Engined Triumph Rocket Streamliner To Challenge Motorcycle Land-Speed Record At Bonneville

Thu, 29 Aug 2013

The 1,000-horsepower Castrol Rocket is currently undergoing testing for its upcoming assault on the land speed record of 376.156 mph, set in 2010, by Rocky Robinson with the Ack Attack streamliner. The goal: a 400-mph-plus record-breaking run. The 25-foot long x 2-foot wide x 3-foot high streamliner was constructed in cooperation by Hot Rod Conspiracy and Carpenter Racing and will compete in the Division C (Streamlined) – Type V (5) Spark Ignition, Over 2,000cc to 3,000cc class. Powering the Rocket are two heavily modified Triumph Rocket III engines. Each Carpenter Racing built engine was reduced from 2,294cc to 1,485cc (2,970cc total) to meet the 3,000cc maximum total displacement class rule requirement. While piston size remains the same stock 4-inch bore, stroke was reduced from 3.75 inches to 2.4 inches and redline increased from 5,750 rpm to 9,000+ rpm. There’s also one Garrett GT2876R ball bearing, liquid-cooled turbocharger per engine.

The original Triumph Bonneville is such an iconic motorcycle with a huge following around the world. So when Triumph reintroduced the modern version of the Bonneville, followed by the Thruxton and America, those who were inspired by Steve McQueen‘s or Marlon Brando‘s antics, but didn’t want to mess with fixing an old motorcycle, found renewed interest. From re-entry riders to trendy hipsters, Triumph has found success with the modern classic lineup.
