The inaugural American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) is just weeks away and promoter Marketplace Events Motorcycle Group today announced the details of AIMExpo Outdoors! The nearly 400,000 square-foot outdoor interactive and experiential space located on the grounds of Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center (OCCC) will feature a variety of activities throughout the five-day event geared towards trade, media and consumers. Along a similar vein is the Isle of Man’s Garage Insanity with a mobility scooter equipped with a 600cc inline-four engine from a Suzuki Katana. According to Garage Insanity, the mobility scooter has a theoretical top speed of 140mph given enough running room, though in practice, it’s only been timed at 102.2 mph over a quarter-mile.

Suzuki Forecasts 9% Increase in North American Sales in 2011-2012 Fiscal Year

Suzuki Motor Corporation released its forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2012, predicting a 9.4% increase in worldwide motorcycle unit sales including a 9.0% increase in the North American market. The fiscal forecast, delayed from Suzuki’s previous quarterly report in May because of the uncertainty caused by the March 11 earthquake, paints a positive picture for the current fiscal year. Suzuki forecasts sales of about 55,000 units in North America, an increase from about 50,000 units sold the previous fiscal year.
