Suzuki GS description

The Suzuki GS1000E is the sought after chain final drive version of Suzuki's GS1000.

"During the 1970s Japan motorcycle builders all had copied the Norton "featherbed" frame, putting powerful inline 4-cylinder motors in them. From these similarities the term Universal Japanese Motorcycle (UJM) was coined. While Honda had good handling and Kawasaki the biggest power, it was Suzuki that managed to find the balance and really combine the two."

The GS1000 is the last model to feature a full tubular steel frame and classic tank and seat (without having the 2 shaped to fit into each other). Even with the extra CCs the GS1000 still managed to be about the same weight as its smaller brothers, the GS750 and GS850, making it the ideal platform for a cafe racer.

It runs and rides excellently. Tank is pretty much dent free, but paint could be redone. No cracks on the rear cowl, and an extra seat pan is included as well as a few other parts (extra forks, larger 1981 GS1000 brakes, new retro natural gum grips, rear seat cowl, rear fender cover). All registration fees are up to date as I ride it to work at least once a week. All electrical works great and compression is excellent. Starts up and runs from cold without issues. Has what I believe to be a Hines 4-into-1 chrome megaphone exhaust, individual air pods, and rejected to match. Battery has been relocated to the rear cowl. Stock HP is 90. 4-to-1 is typically estimated to add about 10-15HP.

Only selling because I already have 2 too many bikes.

2012 Suzuki Inazuma 250 Announced for UK

Mon, 21 Nov 2011

Suzuki announced the European version of its GW250 “Baby B-King” entry-level naked where it will be sold as the Inazuma 250. Unveiled at the NEC Show in the U.K., the 2012 Suzuki Inazuma 250 brings back the name Suzuki used for its GSX naked models. Like the larger displacement GSXs however, the new, littlest Inazuma does not appear to be coming to North America.

John Hopkins British Superbike Round 2 Rundown

Tue, 06 May 2014

The Tyco Suzuki team is looking ahead to next week’s International North West 200 after a tough weekend at Oulton Park during round two of the British Superbike Championship. American John Hopkins took ninth place in Monday’s second race at the Cheshire venue after retiring from the opening encounter in the closing stages due to a problem sensor, which caused an intermittent misfire on his Tyco Suzuki GSX-R1000 Superbike. His team-mate Josh Waters took a brace of 13th-place finishes for his Oulton Park efforts and despite his obvious disappointment, the Australian did significantly improve his lap times from his visit in 2013.
