Norton Commando 850 description

Electric start 850 Commando in full Production Racer bodywork.  Polished alloy tank and Production Racer fiberglass tank included.  Original Production Racer rear fender and fiberglass JPN front fender.  Adjustable Tomaselli clip-on bars.  Shoulderless alloy wheels with stainless spokes and new Avon RoadRiders.  Special fairing mount to allow reasonable steering lock.  Original Production Racer mount included.

Hyde fork brace.  Brembo 4-piston front brake with 290 mm floating disc.  Brembo rear caliper, disc, and master cylinder.  RGM rearset controls.

Speedometer shows 12283 miles, but engine, transmission, forks, etc. have less than  3,000 miles since build.  Engine is bored .020 over and cylinder head is milled for compression, has big valve conversion with lightened valve train, mild porting, 2S "Combat" grind cam, dual 34 mm Mikuni VM carburetors with K&N pod filters.  Bub "Conti-replica" mufflers.  Rod and heim joint "Dave Taylor type" head steady. Lucas RITA electronic ignition.  Podtronics 3-phase electronic voltage regulator/rectifier.

Electric starter built with 4-pole field coil and ball bearing drive end cover.  Heavy duty starter cables.

Built by owner.  I have owned this bike for a number of years, but is not the only Norton in the garage, hence the low miles.  It draws attention wherever I take it, but it is a rider, not a trailer queen.  I can no longer tolerate the riding position and need to make room for new projects.

Not sure if I've ever seen an XJR given the Cafe Racer treatment? Well, until now that is. Created by Italian motorcycle builders, Emporio Elaborazioni, 'The Hound' is based on an XJR1200.
